I was only able to find one other recent thread on this topic so I wanted to get a more current opinion, would it be safe to just use UWorld to study for COMLEX in addition to USMLE? My plan would be to get two thorough passes on it. I would be using COMBANK only for the OMM questions and that's it (in addition to using Savareese of course). I started both UWorld and COMBANK back in January but with the stuff going on at school I don't think I'm going to be able to meet my goal of getting one pass on UWorld and one pass on COMBANK before dedicated starts (which would be the first week in May). I plan on taking USMLE in mid June and then take the COMLEX 4-5 days after if that makes a difference. Thanks in advance.

I used two passes of Uworld and essentially only used combank for OMM questions. I did well with that setup. >250 USMLE >800 COMLEX

I personally recommend doing some Combank because the question style is different and I think it’s good practice (while not good for content review). That said, I’m in the SDN minority on this one, and a lot of people do just fine with your plan.

In general, I recommend a few more resources. However, everyone is different - let your practice scores be your guide.

If it makes you feel any better (group think or something idk), I'm leaning towards doing what you're doing too. Precisely for the reason @LyMed said (knowing a couple resources very well >>> knowing a million resources kinda well) & b/c I don't want to spend $$$ on something I don't need.

I watched a video on YouTube about a dude that scored 250+ using only UWorld (2 passes) & it made a lot of sense to me. He didn't seem like a super-genius or anything; just your average dude. & then ya, cram OMM questions/green book between USMLE/COMLEX

I figured if I complete my first pass before dedicated to establish a baseline (I have a late June test date), then I could start dedicated & tease apart the questions more thoroughly on the second pass. Ya know?

Just to clarify on my post: this only refers to the practice questions I used. I used other resources, almost exclusively limited to Sketchy, First Aid and Savarese for OMM.

I think a large confounding factor is how good of a test taker a person is, ,and how well they have been doing in classes and learned the material the first time.
There are people that barely finish uworld that score 250+, or those that do uworld 3x and still only get 210.

Let me put it to you this way: if you are a decent student who paid attention at all during didactic, you aren't going to do poorly on COMLEX by cramming OMM for 3 days between exams. Your COMLEX score only matters depending on what specialty you are applying to so who gives a **** if you get a 600 but could have gotten 650 if you studied more OMM? That time is better put toward a usable USMLE score except for people attempting to leverage a super high COMLEX for former AOA surgical subspecialty programs.
