Currently, I am planning on applying to the MPH program at UT-Houston. I was wondering what folks who are in the program think about it? Are you happy with the education that you are receiving? What are the school's strengths/weaknesses?

On a random note, do you know if the school is flexible in its 2/1 deadline? I didn't realize until this evening that they had a deadline that was coming up so quickly and am unsure if I'll be able to gather the required letters of recommendation in time. Thanks for your help, late

I called U of H last week and asked that very same question. I spoke to two different people in the admissions office and they both were pretty adamant about having everything (lors, official GRE scores, the application) in by the Feb. 1st deadline. I'm planning on taking the GRE for the first time in mid-Jan. after a month of studying so I pray to God that I do well and have everything in by that time.

Do you have to have all your items in by Feb. 1? Yes, or otherwise you get thrown into the "late" pile and you may not find out until late May. I'm speaking from personal experience. Everything was on-time, execpt my GRE scores arrived after the deadline (even though I took it in early Feb). Also, if your items aren't in on time, you will not be considered for new student scholarships.
