UT-Memphis Interview Nov. 19th 2009

Everyone's first year is Memphis. The next year (P2 year) around 75 students go to Knoxville. In your interview paperwork you will be asked to choose which campus you want to be at. Unless you are absolutely positive you want to go to Knoxville, put down Memphis. Trust me. Even if you end up wanting to go to Knoxville you will have plenty of people who are willing to switch.

Memphis is pretty great... and I had my doubts when I first moved here. It tends to grow on you. Where else can you find an interim mayor that "fist-bumps" the Dalai Lama :smack:.

yeah I've never been to memphis but I did some work for HFH in knoxville and thought the people/environment were pretty great. i'd like to do the pharmd/phd in med chem at either UF or UT... does anyone at UT know anything about the program (especially the med chem phd). i'm coming from orlando, fl.

There's I think 3 or 4 students who are doing the PharmD/PhD program in our class. I don't think the curriculum starts until the summer following P1 year. I also think you are required to be in Memphis if you go that route, but you may want to verify that at the interview.

I'm assuming you've already checked out the page about the PharmD/PhD at UT. You need to take the GRE at some point. It also recommends you set up a meeting with Dr. Yates at the same day as your interview.

Here's a link:

Hey, I was/ am actually considering the pharmD/Phd path in medicinal chem as well...I am kind of concerned about the work load though.
