Could anyone please provide me with the information regarding IDEP program at san antonio? How tough is it to get into the program? Do they have any specific criteria for the admission? Any suggestion would be highly appreciated.

Hello,
They accept 10 students each year, appln process spans frm aug-oct 31st. Minimum part 1 score reqd to be considered for admission is 80, if selected u will have to go thru a personal interview and bench exam. Their appln would be available online frm aug. From what i have heard, I believe it is pretty tough to get in there. Though their requirements are not high, I guess it will be very competitive to be one amongst the 10 that they accept.

A nonrefundable dental skills testing fee of $250 is required of applicants invited for the interview/skills assessment phase of the admissions process. I assume that this is the bench exam, where we would be tested for some practical skills like PFM crown prep/resorative work.

I attended the interview last year.. Unfortunately thats about as far as I got 😀 ..Anyway, to answer your question- The bench test is prep for gold crown and class2. The written test is basic dentistry..Nothing you can specifically prepare for.

If i had the answer to that one, I'd be IN the program now! 😀 ...

And I believe my interview went well.. Not sure about the preps though.. They accept 10 from 48 (6 groups of 8) interviewees... Safe to say that they pick the cream of the lot....🙂 ..
