No, I don't think it has anything to do with your "status". Did you do your FAFSA (and designate UWSOM) on it yet? If not, maybe thats why you didn't get these emails? Also, yea the deadline was pretty early (although not any earlier than most undergrad colleges require), but they really stressed it at my interview. In the financial aid emails sent out, I'm pretty sure you can still get aid--maybe just not certain kinds of aid?

Unfortunately, it wasn't stressed at ALL during my interview day. In fact, my interview was scheduled during the financial aid talk so I had to leave early and missed all of the info. I found one sheet of financial aid info buried in my info packet (that I haven't looked at since my interview in November) that had the date on it once, but that's about it. I know it's my fault that I missed the deadline, but I still feel like the school was a little disorganized about the whole thing. 🙁

I was only just recently able to complete my taxes and filed the FAFSA this weekend, but then my roommate told me about the e-mail(s) and now I'm freaking out. I hope you're right that at least certain kinds of aid are still available. I think I'm going to call the school this week and get more info. Thanks for your suggestions!
 
Has anyone got an email acceptance from UW today from the Idaho WWAMI interviews last week? Should I still be hoping, or have they already gone out and I should just expect my rejection letter later this week?

Anyone?

You will definitely still be eligible for subsidized and non-subsidized federal loans. The early deadline affects your eligibility for institutional loans and grants (i.e. from UW rather than the federal government). If you explain your situation to them regarding the interruption of your financial-aid meeting to interview and the fact that the financial-aid e-mail wasn't sent to you until after the deadline had passed, you may be able to talk them into considering you for the latter as well. I don't mean to imply that I know that they will, but it seems reasonable to me. In any event, the federal loans max out well beyond the annual budget for UW, so you won't find yourself unable to pay for school.
 
i'm living in shanghai right now, and I keep thinking oh wow the excom meeting is coming up soon. But then I realize that when it gets to the next excom date 3/14th here, it'll only be the 13th in wa. Sigh... I guess what i'm wishing for is a time machine

We're in the same boat. I'm visiting Japan right now, so every morning I wake up and check my email hoping that something has transpired overnight - still the same "Your application is complete." I don't know when the meetings are because I can't access that link that came with our interview invites.

Do you think that we will be emailed if accepted? I won't be able to read my snail mail for a few more weeks, so if by some miracle I am accepted I would love to know sooner via email.

I'm pretty sure that they only inform you of definitive decisions (i.e. acceptances and rejections) via USPS.

Can someone hook me up with a link to the application-status page? I'd like to see whether there has been any movement on my application, because I think that this may be the week for me one way or the other.

Acceptances initially come via email.

i really have no clue, but it sure does make me more anxious knowing that a decision could be coming any day now :scared:

From what has happened in the past, they announce it as soon as a decision has been made.
 
I am so happy that my interview is over but now I am back in NC (sadness). I was actually suprised how nice everyone was, especially since I heard some horror stories from my friends. Hopefully we will all find out something soon. Good luck!

I've been looking at this thread for a couple of days and wanted to let everyone know that I'm in the same boat as most of you. Interviewed early February and have been in the competitive pool ever since. Hoping to hear something from UW soon. Anyone know if there was an Excom meeting yesterday or not?

The calendar says there was one yesterday.
 
Hmm...That's what I thought too, but then I rechecked the calendar and yesterday was no longer bold. Only Friday. Strange.

You are right. I was hoping to hear something since I just had my interview. I would really like to be drowning in the pool with everyone else.
 
If the new schedule is correct, then they are meeting Friday and some people should hear on Monday. If not, only a couple weeks of waiting till the big meetings! Then we'll all know.

Happy Friday!!! Hopefully they will not cancel the EXCOM meeting for today. I would love to start drowning in the pool with everyone else.

And then you stare at "Your application is complete." for a while for it to change by mind power 🙂
 
Any word yet? This is an exciting yet nerve racking time. I'm pulling for everyone on these forums. I believe we are the most proactive group of future physicians out there. Good luck all!!
 
You know what's nice about interviewing on the very last day of interviews?

There's no competitive limbo. I'm going to hear within a week an a half of my interview. Yay me
