Do adcoms prefer seeing 300 volunteer hours with the same organization/position over several years, or say 50 hours with six organizations/positions over the same several years? Or does it really not even make a difference?

During my year, the feedback that I got from schools that really valued service was that my "jumping" made them question my commitment to service. It hurt me that I did a lot of volunteer hours through projects through my sorority and a service fraternity. Of course, my long term service commitments involved reproductive health, so that didn't help at Catholic schools. I recommend having at least one volunteer activity that is long-term, serves a disadvantaged population.

Either a) or c) somewhere between those two extremes.
