We are doing this to cut down on the traffic of threads so it makes it easier for people to find information about a school.

Anyone know when the VCOM adcom will meet?? When will they begin to send out interview invites? I would hate to call them and ask b/c I think that they may know my voice by now and I don't want to come off as an anxious pain in the butt...even though I probably am. 😳 Thanks.

I hope they are meeting soon because they are supposed to review my application. Megan said that reapplicants will have to wait a considerable amount of time to hear anything. 🙁

They didn't even send me a secondary. They wanted to see my summer AND fall grades, so I assume that is a nice rejection.

they wouldnt give me a secondary and "referred" me to the board because I'm a reapplicant. Its really kinda crappy because I've done EVERYTHING they asked me to do when I didnt get in last year. Now I applied early and they are making me wait which is probably going to hurt me. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH I'm going crazy here waiting for them🙁🙁😡😡

It has been a busy time at VCOM with the new class starting and the MSIIs coming back and OSCES, etc... I am sure the staff needed just a bit of some R&R🙂😎

On a side note......They have been doing a bunch of wonderful remodeling on the first floor and in the classrooms. It looks so awesome. Rich woods and colors on the walls. I cant believe how great it looks.

Be patient.. waiting is one of the hardest parts of the application process. Good luck to you all!!!!

Oh, I forgot to ask you this ?.....Are interviews granted to the majority of the people who submit secondaries to VCOM?

Hmmm.. I dont know if it is a majority. The number of applicants has been growing over the years since I applied in 2003. I do know they screen for their secondaries. And not everyone interviewed will be accepted. So the interview is an important part as well. Be yourself.

ADCOM must have met because they finally are allowing me to submit a secondary. Sheesh I hope they arent just stringing me along for a second year in a row. I've worked hard to improve my application and while I didnt improve my MCAT I did do alot of other stuff. Good luck to those who have interviews

By heartwrenching, do you mean awesome? They interviewed 331 out of 2115 and accepted 260 in 2005 according to USNEWs.

just a question for those that have been through the application process at VCOM or students there. My application has already been reviewed by the ADCOM because I'm a reapplicant. They offered my a secondary opportunity but I'm wondering if this means my chances are better or about the same as last year. Thoughts?

They say on the aacom website (http://www.aacom.org/colleges/vcom.asp) that it is required. I would make sure to have one for your app.

Its required. Some schools require one, some recommend and others may even take a MD letter in its place but vcom will actually want you to have a letter specifically from a DO. I shadowed a DO for a year one to two times per week. I know some ppl who shadowed a physician twice and sat down and talked to them and had them write a letter for school. Whatever you do make sure u have one. 👍 Anyone have an interview coming up?

I think it depends on what is going on at the time. I waited about 3-4 weeks before I got my interview. Good Luck!

Nope, they screen the primary applications as well as the secondary ones.
