I have been trying to do a passage and get more than 3/8 right, but for some reason, I dose off half way through the passage, what should i do to actually do good in this dreaded section?
You sound just like me. My first VR timed practice test I scored a 4!!! Wow, uh, oh, wait, a 4 sucks. I found it tough to concentrate intensely for an hour. My score range is now 9-12 consistently. How did I do it? Practice. Practice. Practice. I invested money and time. Bought EK 101 VR, all AAMC FL, and had Kaplan's VR guide. Now, with 28 tests to work with, I could rotate through them. I took a timed test at least 5 times a week and tracked my progress on excel. I started scoring in the 6-8 range, then a few 10, 11 and then had a negative trend until about 40 tests. Then, my trend started to go up, and up. I have done 72 timed VR tests and my reading speed has tripled. I finish early and am relaxed during the VR section.
When the gurus on this site say that practice is key... they aren't joking, and it doesn't come free (but it does turn into habit and is fun to track your progress).
Good luck, there's still time! Start today
