Hey I needed some advice I have a 2.55 cum gpa and a 2.3 science gpa
I slacked off first like 2.5 yrs cause i was very careless. I took the Dat today and didnt do great (really effed up 😡).. I used looked thru shcaums bio, used cliffs bio and Kaplan blue book as main sources. CDP and achiever and was hitting AA: 18s , TS:17 with achiever, so i felt the real thing wud be easier lol. I also used Chad's videos which were awesome for gchem but there were prob like 6-7 questions he didnt cover.

PA: 18 ..... 55.3 % Everything except for folding, cubes, and angles was harder than achiever which I certainly didnt expect and ran out of time as a result.

QR: 19 ..... 92.9 %
RC: 20 ...... 78.5 %
BIO:16 ..... 41.0 % There were like 6 questions I hadnt seen in any of the sources i used 🙁((
GC:18 ...... 68.4 %
OC:21 ...... 89.7 %
TS:18 ....... 70.2 %

AA: 19 .........85.4 %

Im planning to retake as I know I can do better. I guess I will fall victim to DAT destroyer.

What masters prgrams can i get into in order to improve my gpa and apply to Dental school? I graduated from a northeast private school last year. Thanks !!

I personally believe you will have a VERY hard time getting interviews at USA dental schools with that kind of undergrad science and overall GPA. I am going to recommend post-bacc courses and 4.0-ing everything you take. You should aim to bring that GPA to at least a 3.0

I dunno if masters is a good idea... many dental schools will not combine your undergrad+masters GPA into 1... you will have 2 sepeate GPAs (one for masters and other for undergrad)...

For the time being, just work on post-bacc courses, good luck

I didnt know between masters/postbacc. I spoke with the dean at UT Houston DS , he looked at my transcript and told me to do a masters over a post bacc cause youll have a degree with a new gpa but not sure if thats the case at all schools. I have about 50 science credits so I can improve. Im 100% comitted to this field as have been working as a lab assistant and rly love it. i know i can improve on the DAT as well. Are there any grad programs i can get into. I also took the gre and did well on it if that helps.

ohhh your from texas (duh I shoulda read your name better lol)

Okay, you need to check into this, but I believe texas is the ONLY state in the nation that has a system that allows you to .... basically delete all of your old undergrad GPA and start a fresh new one. When I was pre-med years back, I heard about this for medical schools. I think the same applies to people wanting to pursue dental schools in texas.

This process only works for texas schools, if you apply to out-of-state schools, I think they will still see the old / new grades.
