I got a BA in biochemistry with a minor in environmental studies
While I agree that your major doesn't matter, if you major in something unrelated to vet med (or that doesn't overlap with pre-reqs), there is a pretty high likelihood that you will spend more than 4 years on your undergraduate education. My degree was essentially all pre-reqs for vet school, which is easily 3ish years of undergrad work.
I would echo people saying to major in something you have an interest in outside of vet school. I don't see this mentioned but I would also encourage people to finish their degrees before vet school (if not too big of a financial burden). You never know what may happen during the 4 years of vet school. I know my class has already lost 4 people. I am sure that if for whatever reason you don't complete vet school, entering the job market with a BS or BA behind your name will be much more helpful than not having it.
