for animal cells, the entire viral capsid and contents are endocytosed, correct? while for a bacterial cell just the genetic information is injected?

and whats the diff btw viral capsid and envelope?

capsid is the protein shell with the viral genome inside. viral envelope is the lipid membrane coating on the outside with the capsid inside.

viral infection is usually similar. virus attaches to the host cell, opens up the cell wall or the cell membrane and inserts the viral DNA. and then enters the lyric cycle of the lysogenic cycle.

it's the different classes and families of viruses that infect hosts differently, and have specific hosts.
