I was starting to write my personal statement and I wanted to clarify what they were looking for with their description:

"Discuss those activities and unique experiences that have contributed to your preparation for a professional program. Discuss your understanding of the veterinary medical profession."

I just wanted some examples of each sentence so I know I am writing about what they are looking for. The preparation I consider is my academic background and the understanding of the profession to be my vet/animal experiences.

Thank you

Sounds like you are on the right track! I think you are interpreting it right. One thing that I think is important to add is that for the understanding of the vet profession (IMO) it means not only your vet experience, but also that you understand there are these ___ other fields in vet med. How vet med connects to different things (research, human med) etc. Think globally as well as what specifically you have experience in.

Don't be afraid to start writing! I know it's really hard to fit your life and feelings into one PS that has a prompt. Remember, there is no "right" way to write a PS, even though there is a prompt I would stay away from just straight up answering the questions without anything creative in between or in the beginning. For me, I spent the longest time trying to figure out how to write a creative beginning that was also tied to animals.

good luck! remember there is a whole list of people on another thread who offered to read a PS for feedback
