On the undergrad page, how accurate do you have to be on the whole admitted and enrolled dates? I only know two dates - the day I started classes in '94, and the day I walked across the stage in '98.

This one might be a bit tougher. Anyone fill this out while still in the military? I don't have a date that my service ended. There isn't a provision for "still doing it!" I've emailed VMCAS, but figured I'd poll the crowd as well.

ETA: Thought of a few others:
Can you change an evaluator's info after you have entered them in the system? Mine are all moving between now and the deadline (one after the deadline, but she should have a house ready by 1 OCT).

On awards description - do you put in a description of the award or what you did to earn it?

For me I stated generic dates that were vaguely accurate. Do I know what day I declined to attend one college? No way, but I knew it was in June of '05 some times, so I put June 1st. I dont think they will come at you with pitchforks if you are a a week or two off.

Yea I just made up the exact days but put it for the month that I knew was right. Like started school in Aug ended in May. Declined late spring probably March? I think that's all they need. I'm not sure why they keep the specific days up there no one knows that!

For reasons beyond my control (stupid organic chemistry II), I need to push back my application for another cycle (class of 2016). Can I make an account to see the application and just not submit it? Will schools find out/will it be looked down upon?

I've seen the sample application they've posted somewhere, but I really want to see the format of everything.

Thanks!!

(P.S. Sorry to hijack the thread--but I thought all VMCAS Q's could go here? Instead of making a new thread every time 😉 )

Schools only see submitted applications so you have nothing to lose. You don't have to pay until you "submit".

As long as the month and year are correct, I don't think the specific day matters.

As for eLOR's I think you can change their information up until the day you hit submit. And even after then, I think as long as they get the email form to fill out their actually contact info could be updated directly with each school as needed.

Awards--I agree, which ever sounds better. I think I put a sentence for both why it was awarded and how it was kept, and what the award itself was.

I put down the work address of my evaluators.

anyone found anything about transfer any of the stuff from last years info, or do we get to put it all in again? they must love us lots.

I'm not sure what to write in the space on the application that asks how long you have lived in your state of residency...

I just changed my residency in May to Massachusetts, but have been "living" here for school for the last 3 1/2 years... do I only list the date since my official legal residency (license, voter registration, etc.) began?

I listed the date since my official legal residency, cause that's what mattered, and also I didn't want anyone yelling at me for "lying"

Here's what I think of VMCAS right now:

Maybe I'll feel more like getting it started next week.

For those of you new to SDN I have to give a shout out for the Davis interview music video.... I found it amazing, must of watched it 100 times while playing the waiting game.... This video alone almost convinced me to go to UCDavis.

enjoy...

:laugh::laugh: LMFAO. There is nothing more hilarious to me than a bunch of white kids trying to rap...

Me too. I've lived in CA for a total of 28.5 years, but lived in NV (like 100 yards over the border) for one year, five years ago, and have been here ever since. Do I put 28.5 or 5? It's a bit ridiculous. I ended up putting 28.5.

I think that enough of us remember hearing of our application info carrying over this year that the statement must have really been made. I wish I could find the email or whatever it was. Poo on them...and yet, I keep going back.

.....never mind I figured it out 🙂
