For PA schools that require direct patient care hours, would volunteering at the hospital/hospice count towards those hours? Or would I need to be in a paid position?

(BTW the schools that I am looking into requires at leas 1,000 hours)

most programs consider unskilled volunteering to be community service unless you are volunteering in a professional capacity ( volunteer paramedic with rural fire dept, etc).
best bet is to get an emt, cna, lpn, or medical asst. cert and get a job for at least 1 year.
