Hello everyone I had a quick question. Is it appropriate to count training time for a volunteer activity if they amount to a sizable volunteer time? (About 16hours of just training for hospice)

Hello everyone I had a quick question. Is it appropriate to count training time for a volunteer activity if they amount to a sizable volunteer time? (About 16hours of just training for hospice)

I personally wrote in the description something like "In addition to volunteering X hours per week, I also underwent Y hours of training to [purpose of training]."

For the hours box, I just listed the actual volunteering hours but that doesn't matter much compared to the description.

I added the 36 hours of training time for one of my clinical volunteer ECs to my "total hours" and then in the description, I explained that I have received several hours worth of training in x,y,z. There is no way I was just going to ignore the rigorous 36 hours worth of training.

Unless the training was in some way paid, then it definitely counts as volunteer hours.
