To become a hospital volunteer, what references did you guys use? Are old professors or teachers okay, or do they look for employer-type references. Also, does anyone know exactly how much these matter?

The first time I volunteered three years ago I was still in high school, so I used my high school guidance counselor as a reference. For the second hospital the I volunteered in, I used the volunteer coordinator at the first hospital as a reference. I think your college advisor would be the best bet.

From my experience, its more of a formality. I don't think that a hospital would ever turn away volunteers, unless theres a very obvious reason to.
