•Miss medicine, I interviewed a couple weeks ago, and just called today. A woman answered and told me that I would not hear anything until aleast another two weeks, so I guess we may also be included on that mid June decision batch. I really hoped that it would have been earlier.•••••Thanks for the info

Hey were you an appeal candidate because they may be reviewing appeals separately, I heard. I was not an appeal candidate but after my interview, I asked when I should expect to hear and they said "give it 4 weeks but it will probably be sooner than that"

I think the last batch of interviews will not be waitlisted. I think they will be making a final decision on us right then and there... which I guess is good in a way. Let me know what happens. Who did you interview with?•••••No, I am not an apeal candidate. It just took them an eternity, for whatever reason, to grant me a secondary and then I sat on the secondary for another while.

I remember a SDN member heard from UCLA quite promptly (I think two weeks post-interview). She was a regular interviewee that just happened to interview late. So I was expected a similiar turn-around for us.

Good luck everyone. I hope you all get in. Hang in there. The whole ordeal is almost over. As for those of you still waiting, don't hang on the words of the admissions office. I called many times between my interview and final decision letter. Each time I got one more week or two more week replies. I called on a thursday, they said two weeks, I got my letter on saturday. Just wait. Good luck and keep busy so you do not go mad.

Does anyone know if the waitlist is different for in-state vs out-of-state students?

Hard to say for sure, but most state schools -especially those with 'unranked' waitlists- try to preserve an in-state out-of-state ratio. In other words, an out of stater who's already accepted would have to decline a spot before they would offer it to an out of stater on the waitlist.

•dr momo... any word yet about your final decision?•••••no, sorry! i haven't checked my mail in a few days.

:)

I'm rooting for all of you who are waiting (more than patiently) for a spot at UCLA. I just thought I'd give you some hope for waitlist movement. I'm currently holding a spot at UCLA that I'll give up (which would mean movement on the waitlist) if I get off the waitlist at another school (which according to an admissions officer there I spoke with seems pretty likely -- if not, I'll see some of you in class in LA). So, my guess is that there are probably a few people holding spots that may be in my position. Hope that means that the waitlist will move for a lot of you.

Thanks P.O.T. I hope for both of our sakes you get into your other school! GL :p

Thanks for your encouraging words, PeasOnToast. BTW, I almost thought that you were directing the words to me specifically.. :D

So I guess us waitlisted people have no need for UCLA's online status check anymore, right?

they told me that the online status check would show when a new decision is sent out, but who knows, the staff has been wrong about just a few things in the past

So, do you guys thinks they will call us if we get pulled off the waitlist? And then, send us a letter thus, the need for the status page? I'm thinking of changing my answering machine message so it's not so bad. I doubt they like listening to "Hey, what's up?" Post up guys.

i'm curious about this: do any of you waitlisted people plan to defer if you get accepted?

When I called, monotone dude told me that status page will not be updated with a new date. He just said they'll send a letter.

This ensures that students WILL matriculate from getting off the list and they won't run short of applicants...

So where is the monotone guy going to work now and when is he leaving? I am super curious!!! Oh no, what are we going to do without our monotone guy!

I heard he got a job in accounting. Wow, talk about a perfect match, like when peanut butter found jelly.
