Waitlist emails?

I've only got 4 interviews at this point and about 10 rejections. However, I still have to hear back from over 20 programs. My school didn't submit my Dean's letter until a few days ago and I'm worried that I was just passed over for other students whose applications were complete and therefore I wasn't rejected, but waitlisted (hopefully.) Do residencies that are going to waitlist you but not reject you send an email? Or do I just get to ponder this and hope for spots to open at those schools?

I know of one place that does send out waitlist emails, and it's Indiana. From what I hear, a few places just never respond at all. No rejection or waitlist.

You don't happen to know which programs tend not to send anything, do you? I only ask because I applied to a very limited number of programs and I haven't heard anything from a couple of them. Thanks.

Nope, sorry. Usually this was something I would hear from residents in a cynical way, like "yeah, i'm still waiting to hear from X!" They just said some programs don't inform you of anything in the end.

Just write the residency coordinator and ask if your application is complete and being reviewed. They will usually give you and update if you ask.
