1+ year's worth of anxiety has all been building up to this week😵. But I'm on enough waitlists that I'm not sure if I should be rewriting my PS/AMCAS or requesting transcripts yet.
Since transcripts cost $$ I would wait. Hopefully you hear in the next week!! I’d probably begin to rewrite after that. At least draft a couple ideas of changes 🙂

NEVERMIND JUST GOT ACCEPTED

One minute you're contemplating reapplying, the next you're accepted.

~About to start contemplating my life decisions to kickstart an acceptance (I've already been accepted somewhere but hanging on hope for my top choice.)

Insert deep contemplation about my life choices and reapplication here
Other strategies include:
Going to quiet places, like libraries, where answering phone calls will give you some dirty looks.
Holding semi-important meetings like group projects -- getting an acceptance call in front of a group is awkward.
Using a bathroom somewhere with awful cell service -- not only do you hope no one flushes a toilet during your call, if it works you also get to call this the best poop of your life. (unless you are one of those 'I didn't know I was pregnant and had it on the toilet' mythical tv-special type individuals, that is either way better or worse depending on your outlook)
Edit: also adding 'forget your cell phone at home that day'

Proven to work by me and a friend 🙂

Hey guys! I'm super conflicted about something and looking for advice. I feel like the answer is obvious but I need to hear it from others lol.

I was WL'ed at my top choice IS school; when I found out about the WL via the portal, I typed up a LOI immediately. When I got the official WL letter in the mail, it said to not send "any transcripts or letters to the office of admissions unless requested." I reallllllly want to send the LOI now, especially since the WL is unranked, but I feel like it's not the right thing to do, right? But I feel like if I don't send it, I'll always wonder. Someone tell me I'm being stupid and lacking in reading comprehension skills....

Yeah, it looks desperate, some schools like this type of grovelling but being told to send NOTHING unless asked is pretty clear. Best you can do is hope they ask for updates or something later on.

Ahh thank you for responding lol. I know this is the correct response but my brain is stupid

That’s so strange. Why have an unranked waitlist and then tell people not to send updates??

But yeah I wouldn’t send anything if they specifically said not too.

They accept updates only via the portal, where you have like 150 characters or whatever. I think they just don't want people sending them longer letters of interest and stuff.

Congrats to everyone being accepted! I can't focus on anything lately.. and I'm obsessively checking this thread/my email/my phone. Waiting on 2 waitslists, my fingers are crossed so hard!!!
I completely feel you! I am so distracted at work right now. Texas apps open again today and I hate having to resubmit but timing was my main problem last cycle 🙁

Has anyone heard anything about Georgetown's or East Virgina's waitlist movements yet? Thanks in advance for your inputs.

Has anyone had or heard of any movement from University of Arizona - Tucson?

Hello everyone! I've only joined recently after applying in my first cycle and only getting waitlisted. I was getting ready for all the rigors to happen again and this time I wasn't going to pull punches. But, I just got the call a few minutes ago and I've been accepted to Colorado! I was interviewed in October and waitlisted in December! I could hardly finish my lunch after getting the call and I am still shaking! Thank you all for this wonderful community and all the support everyone give one another!

Does anyone have the MSAR data for Wake Forest's WL. I don't think there will be much movement until next week here, but would love to know the details if anyone can share. Thanks!
According to MSAR, 25-35% of the incoming class comes from the waitlist (39 acceptance offers granted from waitlist)

Rejected off my last MD waitlist today, but that's okay. I have an acceptance to my top choice DO program and I'm happy with that.

Good luck to the rest of you! May you get off all your waitlists and enjoy your first semester of MD school this summer. 😀
