ACCEPTED EARLIER TODAY! 1 INTERVIEW, 1 WAITLIST, 1 ACCEPTANCE. Am in complete and utter disbelief. There is hope!! Maybe medical school admissions are holistic after all.....

Now that, that I could not bear...Especially the 30 days to wait for the results?!? I'm sorry, I feel your pain.
Hopefully, I get accepted off of a waitlist and don’t have to actually take it.

Yup...I am on 5 waitlists and retook my MCAT already. Exactly 2 weeks till the scores are released. Hoping something good happens within these two weeks so I do not even need to open my MCAT scores!!!

On the bright side, AMCAS fills out most of the info from last cycle's app including your grades so it's just picking schools for you

Thank you for the info! When evaluating waitlisted applicants, do 1-2 adcoms do a full read-through of the whole application again in addition to interviews, LOI, and updates?

Waitlist management varies dramatically from school to school.

Same here.
Got in OOS at an instate favoring school where their MCAT and GPA average is way above mine but I can't even get into my own state school where I have the average matriculant's stats and above average EC's...
What is this process...
Are these "acceptances" from students who decide to take the WL acceptance from Columbia/Harvard/Mayo/UCI and relinquish a spot from the only other school they had an acceptance at or are these "acceptance" alerts from the schools themselves notifying the students they have just been pulled off the waitlist? Do all adcoms see this traffic or only if it pertains to their school? Thanks for the news!

We can only see where people we have interviewed (or accepted) are offered positions. Whether they choose to accept the position becomes clear over the next 5 days.
We never see where you have interviewed, been waitlisted or were rejected.
When does waitlist movement peak in May?

Last week was a ripoff.
Thinking back to my interview at my top choice, and the emails after that with my interviewer and some other profs there...they were so supportive and gave me such great vibes. Having missed multiple waves of acceptances, I'm just like, were you all just lying to my face fam???
would you ever (not like you, literally, but like a collective 'you') or any of our faculty colleagues ever give someone false hope during the interview about their strength as a candidate? To the point of talking about potential mentorship, internships and faculty led study trips that you foresee this candidate participating in were they to come to your school? (I don't mean this as in bribes)
I felt the same way and look at me now... just waiting to hear something. Doesn't even have to be positive... I just want to know
The dean of admissions interviewed me in a group interview and came out after and sat next to me and told me it went well.... i checked my mail every month when they sent out acceptances and here I am checking my email everyday to get off the waitlist. It’s been a long year..
