Not from where I can see.Hi Professor,
Any movement at Northwestern in the past few days?
Thanks!
On the other hand, there was a boatload from UCSD.
There were also new acceptances from Columbia and CUSM.

Any movement at WVU or Pitt that you have seen? Not from where I can see.

Not that I recall. But remember, I can't see everything.Any movement at WVU or Pitt that you have seen?
Appreciate it!Not that I recall. But remember, I can't see everything.
If she told you to send another LOI, she probably said that for a reason. A very, very good reason especially considering that she’s an adcom for that specific school. If I were you, I’d be crafting another superb LOII called the school I sent a letter of intent to 3 weeks ago and the adcom woman who I’ve spoken to before (she’s a gem) whispered to me to send another LOI. Do you think that’s a bit much? I don’t want to be annoying. I didn’t tell her my name

Hi gyngyn, would you be able to tell us how many waitlist acceptances you saw at UCSD, and was this just from today? Not from where I can see.

I always report what I see. I can only see where folks we considered were accepted, though.Hi Professor,
Any movement at WSUSOM?
There were multiple new acceptances since yesterday at UCSD.Hi gyngyn, would you be able to tell us how many waitlist acceptances you saw at UCSD, and was this just from today?

No, it's the school that just opened in CA.Hi Professor,
IS CUSOM the University of Colorado School of Medicine?
I always print what I see!Hi Prof,
Have you seen any additional movement at FAU CESCOM today?
Thanks
Congratulations!!!!accepted MD today. Everything I did to try to compensate for my academic flaws, miserable exhausting years of research and post bac and volunteering, my self worth wrapped up in a blanket of insecurity because of a **** GPA... it all became worth it in the blink of an eye.
i don't think i can offer anything motivational or wise to those still waiting. in fact, i resented posts like this, i wanted those people to go away and be happy in the med students forum. perhaps the only thing of value I can offer you is that if someone saw something in my application, with its mountain of flaws that stare you right in the face, there's a good chance they might see something in yours.

Maybe we should make one too for this cycleI think this thread from last cycle was very inspirational (I’m not sure if someone posted this already). It has some people who got in when a lot of people would have told them to give up. Check it out if you’re feeling blue and need some motivation to keep hope alive! Lol same. If nothing else, being on a bunch of WL has got me stuck on a nice routine: get to work, check sdn, do something so my PI doesn’t fire me, check sdn, go home, workout, check sdn. Rinse and repeatI'm losing sleep and constantly anxious/stressed but at least I have deez 3-hour-coping-workout GAINZ
Since modern software has made data management an achievable goal, I have seen much less waitlist variability than in years past.@gyngyn Do you see a difference in waitlist movement this year? Are schools really moving slower or is this just wishful thinking?
I have seen much less waitlist variability than in years past.
For those who like waitlist movement, they need only wait until next year, it will be mayhem.so that's not just our delusions...

AAMC informed schools at a meeting a few weeks ago that the admissions process is changing regarding traffic rules/acceptance reports (details have been posted earlier in thread). It is effective this coming cycle and appears there was little warning. Why Mayhem next year? Thank you.

what is changing?
No more multiple acceptance report, so its hard for schools to judge yield.
Schools can now offer spots off the waitlist to students who have ALREADY MATRICULATED at another school. So i.e. if I was to matriculate at Case Western, which starts in July, but then Harvard said they wanted me to join their class starting August 1, I could leave Case with an empty space that they are unable to fill since classes have already started. This has not been allowed previously.
I always print what I see!
For the report, it could be because some schools will/won't accept students who already have another acceptance elsewhere. The other part has something to do with poaching but I'm sure @gyngyn can explain it betterWhy are they changing that?
Hello Prof,
Have you seen any movement at LSU (both)?
Thanks
Lol cmon, you just replied to a post that says "I always report what I see" and asked if something was seen that wasn't reported. Definitely not the only one to do this of course, but just saying, poor gyngyn can't get a break![]()
Hey, people are anxious. Give them a break. Gyngyn understands this and always responds politely. I have a sneaking suspicion empathy might be an important trait in medicine.
Told ya! Congrats!accepted MD today. Everything I did to try to compensate for my academic flaws, miserable exhausting years of research and post bac and volunteering, my self worth wrapped up in a blanket of insecurity because of a **** GPA... it all became worth it in the blink of an eye.

The most BEAUTIFUL thing about movement at hot-shot schools is that this is amazing for the rest of usThe only thing I have to report today is movement at Hopkins.
As AMCAS does not update over the holiday, this will be the last report until Tuesday.
Try to enjoy every day, even the difficult ones. I do.
My comment was suppose to be lighthearted, and I know gyngyn responds politely, definitely super helpful. Just trying to make things easier for gyngyn. No need to take sassy shots at my ability to practice medicine. Chillll
Same. I emailed the deans at my WL school and asked them to please consider me one last time at the next meeting so I move across the country in peace lolWell waitlist humans. I’m officially out. Emailed the school and the odds are looking rough. I’m proceeding confidently with my acceptance and not looking back. I wish you all the absolute best! What is meant to be, will be.
There actually is one, but nobody’s posted in it in a whileMaybe we should make one too for this cycle
Not surprisingly most of the people posting on there are active members on here tooThere actually is one, but nobody’s posted in it in a while

I wonder if Tuesday we will see a lot of movement since there will be no reporting or anything over the holiday weekend...hmm
