Yes, because anonymous posting behavior on an internet message board is indicative of your professional performance 4+ years later.

You know, I think it is an indicator. It's in forums like this, where some people feel free to say anything without repercussions, that you see their true natures come out.

I've met a lot of nice posters on SDN but sometimes I wonder about having to work with the rest of them.

The only "kitty kat" I smell is Kobe!!

Shoot what ever happened to celebrity death match.

lol ok i admit i lost some respect for kobe that one year he started crying. im sure u all remember that year the lakers tried to 4-peat, and they couldnt do it, and so kobe bryant starting weepin like a little girl after the game. ill give that to u....guys dont cry over shtt like that.

buuuuuut......come on now. raja bell aint even in the same league as kobe. sure he can defend well, but seriously, anyone who hustles on D can defend pretty well. like artest or bowen.

ill stop bashing on bell cuz that guy did save me in fantasy NBA this year. but in general, i dont like players (in any sport) who think they're better than they really are. bell's decent player and he can bust 3's, but he aint no kobe. so he should stop talkin and acting like he is.

That's probably somewhat true, but I also think people just enjoy making snappy (although offensive and ill-advised) comments to feel smart (or something).

Alright my fists are down!! 😀

That was a poor decision on Raja's part true. This is basket ball not wrestling. Now he's suspened for a critical game 6 - Not smart at all.

Go Suns!! Hope they play a good fair game

Hm. 3 pages to go from waitlister whining to greedy multiple acceptance grabbers to basketball. I see the link from 1->2, 2->3 is a bit more tenuous I think. 🙂

Yeah the Mavs have been phenomenol - I hope they meet SAC instead of Spurs though. The seem to have a psycological edge playing SAC rather than Spurs.

probably not a good idea on her part. i think there is a hard cutoff sometime in june when all your acceptances get dropped if you are holding more than one (could be an urban legend tho)
June 15.
It's true. I was told this by an ADCOM.

ok,

to all you ignorant people who think all koreans eat dogs/puppies as some kind of glorified delicacy, you are WRONG. yes, there are a few people who eat dogmeat in korea, but this is not your normal dog. the dog that is bred for meat looks more like a cow than a dog, trust me. also this is a food option that has trickled down from the old days when korea was wartorn and really really poor with nothing to eat.

just because you eat sushi does not mean you would go out and cook somebody's beta fish and eat it!

anyways, even in korea, nowadays eating dogmeat is looked down upon and thought of as a neanderthal habit, and it is illegal to have any signs for restaurants advertising dogmeat facing the street. mostly guys are taken to any restaurant that serves it as a hazing thing.

fyi.

yeah seriously. it pisses me off when people come up to me and ask me if i eat dog assuming that every korean eat dogs.

As per the OP, he didn't say all stuff that wasn't true. I somewhat understand where he is coming from. I know its hard for you waitlisters, but if its meant to happen this year it will work itself out. It did last year anyways.

Hey, sorry, but your people do eat dog and cat. They serve them on the menu in Korea. I'm sorry if it annoys you, but blame your culture. By the way, where do you think SARS came from (think mirkat in southern China)?

How can you justify these barabaric practices by comparing a dog to a cow? First of all, I have seen the dogs your people cook and eat, and they look like dogs to me. Second of all, have you ever seen a seeing eye cow, or a search and rescue cow? Does a cow lick you on the face when you come home from work, or play fetch with you in the backyard? Give me a break!!!

Is it true that Philips/Koreans only eat black dog? I don't really see a problem with eating dog, we eat crab and they are just rats that live underwater. I went to hawaii with my g/f and her Somoan neighbors ate horse meat, that bothered me a little becuase I grew up with horses and they don't really seem like a food item, but I guess that is just cultural bias.

Um...just because you form an emotional bond with a species doesn't make it any different from the rest. I could go down to the nearest farm store and pick up a couple chicks and throw leashes onto them but at the end of the day chicken is still food. Now I don't have any expertise in this area but it's not likely that they're eating random strays. I think what the poster meant was that the dogs were reared for consumption. I could be wrong though.

And just to be totally absurd: maybe we'd have seeing-eye cows if people would stop the discrimination and send cows to seeing-eye school. Down with SPECIESISM! (that's not a word is it?) And maybe a cow would lick your face when you come home if you had a cow, otherwise it's not likely to happen. I'm just saying.

It's my waitlist and I'll whine if I want to, whine if I want to, wwwwwwhhhhiiinnnee if i want to! 😛

actually I saw a show last year about a new program to train seeing eye shetland ponys, apparanetly they live longer and blind people don't have to go through the heart break of losing several dogs over the course of their lives, so back to my comment about the Samoan's and the horses...

I wonder what a hindi would say about your concept of cows.

Besides, cows cry before they are killed and screaming lambs and pigs sound like children.

Finally, I can't believe you even said barbaric. Excuse me if people see meat as meat. Any lower life form is fair game--rabbit, deer, even insects make up different groups of people's cuisines. As long as they're not serving up people, it's close-minded to judge anyone for their eating habits.

Well your post practically answers your question. You were unnerved by the Samoans eating horse meat because you grew up around domesticated horses. What you have to remember is that though horses are domesticated now they once roamed as wild animals. It's just that some people had wild cows and so got used to eating that, while some had wild horses and ate that. In samoa, I guess they had horses.

What might surprise you is the horse-meat trade is probably bigger than the dog-meat trade. I guess horse meat is more acceptable because most people never had a horse for a pet.

Hey, isn't there horse meat in dog food? Or is that an urban legend...

yes there is. When a horse get old (at least where I am from) you either take it out and let it go die with the mustang heard (wild horses), bury it in the field with a backhoe, or you take it to the slaughter house where they make dog food from the meat and use the hides and hooves for elmers glue (or at least they used to make the glue, the meat part is true even if they don't do they don't sell the extras to glue factories anymore).

Do you guys think this is funny?

I'm not offended at all... I just think you guys need to go purchase a sense of humor and then come back and try to make funny posts.

Although playing Sacramento would be the guaranteed win, I believe playing San Antonio will make for a more exciting series.

Obviously I want to play it safe and go with Sacramento, but I don't see them pulling off the series. I'll be watching Friday night and pulling for the Kings, however.

It's ridiculous that the teams with the top 2 records in the entire conference meet up in the second round, if San Antonio ends up advancing, however.

The playoff matchups per round should be based on lowest seed vs. highest seed at least, which would pit the Spurs against the Clippers or Lakers.

It's obvious that Denver didn't deserve to be seeded ahead of Dallas (or even in the playoffs?)

I'm not afraid, I'll go ahead and say it. Quit whining, if an acceptance is in the cards for you this year, you'll get it, and a year from today you won't give a damn that it took so long for you to find out. You are stressing yourselves out for no reason. They deadline for withdrawing is May 15th. Therefore, most of us with multiple acceptances will withdraw by May 15th. Nobody has any "obligation" to withdraw before that, they don't "owe it" to you. This happens every year, you knew this when you applied and when you got notified about your waitlist status. The majority of us are waiting on fin aid/scholarships, I really can't imagine there are a lot of people saying "I am so cool I am holding spots for no reason." It makes me sick to think that I felt all bad on this website about a month ago for holding multiple acceptances, and was about to withdraw from a school that, at the time, I though I would not be attending. But, come to find out in the last couple weeks that nowheresville medical school has offered me a sweet scholarship deal, my #1 choice gave me nil, not even good loans, and my #2 has increased OS tuition by ~80,000. To think, a rash decision to drop my "lower school" and I would be rocking an extra 80,000 in loans, minimum. And this isn't unique I am sure. For those of you holding multiple acceptances, congratulations. You have earned the right to hem and haw about where you are going to school right up until the deadline if you wish. That is a privledge of being the better applicant.

Fire away boys.

Edit: Check post #4 before you hate me, and realize that you can't use tone in a post, and this should be read in the "look guys, I know it sucks, but we do have real reasons for waiting and you'll know soon enough about our withdrawals" tone of voice

So I am curious as to why you felt it necessary to tell them to quit whining...kinda pointless...dont you think...If they want to whine then let them boo hoo.

Just ignore it...or is that too hard for you to do?
