Hi everybody,
I was wondering if there were any students here from the medical school at Wake Forest. I've been reading up on a lot of medical schools lately, and the curriculum at Wake Forest sounds really exciting. I was hoping maybe some students from there can give me their opinions about the school. Opinions about other schools would be nice as well.

Thanks

I am a First year at Chapel Hill, but I worked for Baptist Hospital for a few years and I got to know the students at WFU-MED quiet well. It is a very good school, and I love Winston Salem. I guess the best way to tell is to actually go and vistit the town and the school. I know many Doctors and students there and they take their curriculum very seriously, which is to be respected.

However, also know that a Medical School is more than the 'name', it is also the behind the scenes staff, and the attitude that is actually more important. You can determine this from your interviews and talking to other med students.

You want to graduate from a school that will be able to provide you with the 4 years of education that will adequately prepare you for residency both in test taking as well as doctor-patient skills.

Hope this helps

Hi Pegasus,
Thanks for the reply. Your information is much appreciated and very helpful. How are you liking Chapel Hill? Both schools seem very appealing to me.

Chapel Hill is Awesome...so much more than I ever expected it to be.

The professors, the students, Franklin Street, and even financial aid (hehe). Honestly, it is amazing how different Med School is from undergrad. I feel as if the second I got accepted everyone has bent over backwards to make my experience here the best possible. I am not sure it this is how other med schools are, but i am assuming so.

A large reason for choosing Chapel Hill is the fact that I did go to undergrad in Winston-Salem and I was kinda ready for a totally different atmosphere, which Chapel Hill provided.

Good luck in Getting in, and enjoy the wonderful feeling of being able to 'choose' your medical school (maybe Ill cya at Chapel Hill next yr? )
