- MCAT: 507 (126/128/125/128)
- Primary: 07/04, Secondaries: 07/11-10/9
- NY
- White, F, non-trad, 29 years old
- Undergraduate institution: Boston College, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (2016)
- Post-bacc completed at Hofstra University
- Clinical experience:
1. Staff RN: Pediatric Emergency Department x 5 years, full time
2. Staff RN: Neonatal ICU x 1 year, full time
3. Assistant Nurse Manager: Pediatric Emergency Department x 2 years
All of this clinical experience is at Cohen Children's Medical Center, part of Northwell Health.
- Experiences:
1. Camp nurse at non-profit bereavement camp for children (175 hrs)
2. Stop the Bleed instructor (150 hrs)
3. Sepsis Initiative nursing representative (400 hours)
4. ADL care for COVID patients (baths, hair care, shaving, etc) (200 hrs)

You have enough clinical experience. ;)

Which of the above experiences are volunteering?

One significant problem is that all of the experiences are in your comfort zone. It's all clinical. You need non-clinical volunteering where you are participating in service which is outside of your comfort zone. You need to show that you're comfortable being uncomfortable.

Your letters are good? Your narrative is good (why be a doctor when you can be of service as an RN)?

Others will comment on your school list; I agree with Columbia, Cornell & Icahn being reaches. NYU is also a reach.

You are a successful nurse; your narrative about why you want to become a physician (rather than APRN or NP or CRNA) is very important.
