Hi all - I'm getting ready to reapply during this 2027 admissions cycle. Looking for feedback on school list and also anything important to improve on before submitting. I did not receive any interviews over the past year, any advice on how to get over that obstacle would be very appreciated. Thank you!
cGPA 3.69, sGPA 3.39 at T10 with a reputation for academic rigor. IL ORM.
MCAT - first attempt 511 (124/130/130/127), second 512 (127, 130, 127, 128). retook to improve my C/P.
clinical experience:
currently working as a pediatric MA, ~1000 hours completed, ~1000 expected.
clinical volunteering at local hospital, front desk/greeting but more importantly helping with respiratory therapy classes. ~150 hours.
research:
worked in small oncology lab for several years in undergrad, ~2000 hours. no pubs or presentations but have a pretty great story about independence and problem-solving.
will be starting a clinical ethics research internship part-time in the summer for the next year, ~1000 hours expected.
shadowing:
~50 hours over several years in oncology, anesthesiology, pediatrics.
non-clinical volunteering:
tutoring through sorority ~200 hours
fundraising and grant-writing for local free clinic (will be reclassifying as community health advocacy this app) ~50 hours
volunteering at local food pantry, doing home delivery program and other volunteer posts! recently started this but will likely accumulate ~150 hours
now part of alumnae advising for my sorority, ~75 hours expected.
other extracurriculars:
2 leadership positions, one for pre-med publication on campus, one through sorority for fundraising and philanthropy. both were pretty involved, i'd say about 500 hours between the two of them. the latter was one of my MMEs.
1-2 other extracurriculars i participated in throughout my entire undergrad career.
1 award for best thesis within my major
1 grant for studying language independently abroad
4th quartile CASPER, no preview taken
here's where i applied this last cycle:
I am expanding to more schools within the midwest and mideast. I think that one of my major weaknesses was school list, and that I did not apply broadly enough. Thanks again for any feedback or advice!
edit:

NEOMED
university of cincinnati
