Hello everyone! I'm applying this upcoming cycle, and wanted to know what my chances for an MD program were. I'd also love to know if there were any schools yall would recommend I add to my list! Please suggest any target schools--I think my list might be top heavy. Thank yall so much!

I'm not sure your shadowing is enough because 30/50 hours were done in Japan. Just saying that unless you did some shadowing working in the GI office or hospital, your exposure to physicians is not keeping up with the bulk of the applicant pool, especially at your "top heavy" schools.

Your non-clinical volunteering is also below the "average." What have you been doing with your faith community? You need to spotlight community-based activities that demonstrate service orientation, such as food distribution, shelter volunteer, job/tax preparation, legal support, transportation services, or housing rehabilitation to those who are in need outside of your faith home. If most of your time is spent as a worship leader, those hours don't fit this category of service, and you may be screened out if you have fewer than 150 hours when you submit your application. As president of a large service organization on campus, separate your leadership/executive responsibilities from your service (as noted above).
