Hi everyone. I am planning on applying to MD schools and am hoping to get some advice on some schools that would align well with my Stats and experiences:

1) Biomedical Sciences major, Psychology Major, Biomedical Engineering Masters Degree, 2 gap years
cGPA: 3.839 (Freshman), 3.766 (Sophomore), 3.492 (Junior), 3.645 (Senior), 3.800 (Graduate)
sGPA: 3.714 (Freshman), 3.643 (Sophomore), 3.248 (Junior), 3.479 (Senior)

2)MCAT:
First attempt 520 (cp 128 cars 128 bb 132 ps 132)

3) NY resident, ORM, First gen

4) Clinical
  • Medical Intern at a clinic: 450 hours, volunteer
  • Patient Care Technician at Urgent Care: 1,725 hours, paid
  • EMT: 80 hours, volunteer
5) Shadowing: 16 hrs, mixed specialties

6) Research
  • Clinical RA in smoking cessation study in pregnant women: 170 hours, volunteer
7) Volunteering
  • Meals on Wheels: 7 hours
  • The Red Cross: 8 hours
  • Tutor for 5th grade mathematics: 30 hours
  • Irish Dance Assistant Teacher: 170 hours
  • EMS Club Student Liaison: 70 hours
  • Irish Dance Club Vice President: 200 hours
8) Other Employment:
  • Daycare Assistant Teacher: 1,974 hours
  • Campus Tour Guide: 200 hours
9) LOR
  • 1 letter from the PA at the urgent care I work at
  • 1 letter from Science professor I had for a biology class in undergrad
  • 1 letter from Biomedical Engineering grad school professor
  • 1 letter from Biology professor in grad school
  • 1 letter from psych professor in undergrad

Did you do a research thesis for your masters? It doesn't look like it.

Shadowing hours should be around 50 hours before/by submission.

Lots of teaching for volunteering which every premed has. Not enough community service activities. Prioritize Meals on Wheels to get to 150 hours by submission. Irish dance is a hobby.

Not that the PA letter is not valued, but why not a physician letter?

With the exception of shadowing, you should not be listing activities with fewer than 50 hours. You essentially helped at Meals on Wheels one weekend, ditto the Red Cross. Agreed that increasing Meals on Wheels to 150 would be your best course of action.
