Date of submission: Hoping June 17
Overall GPA: 3.5
Science GPA: 3.4
Bio-Chem-Physics GPA: 3.4
DAT score (include AA and all sections):
First time: PAT 18, QR 15, RC 20, BIO 18, GC 19, OC 17, TS 18 , AA 18
Second time: PAT 19, QR 20, RC 19, BIO 17, GC 22, OC, 19, TS 19, AA 19
State of Residence: CA

Undergrad Attended: SJSU (graduated spring 2021)
Major: Biochemistry
Minority? No
Reapplicant? No
Nontrad? No

Shadowing Experience: 200+ hours (three dentists: two general, one ortho)
Volunteering Experience: 100+ hours (at least 100 hours from local food bank, covid-19, translators). I am planning to get more, but is 100+ hours sufficient. I can only get up to about 100 hours by the time I apply, which is June 17. However, I am planning to continue my volunteer at my local food bank even after submission. Does it count?
Employment: I used to work as a pharmacy clerk for CVS about 900+ hours
Research: None
Other Extracurriculars: Pre-pharmacy club: 30 hours, Treasurer of Pre-dental club: 100+ hours
Relevant Honors or Awards: Dean list 2x
LOR type and strength: One dentist (strong), two science professors (hoping at least decent)
Misc Info/Things not stated elsewhere/Red Flags:
-I think my biggest weakness is my DAT score, which is not high enough. I tried my best to bring it up, but this is the best I can do. There is some improvements, but not too much. Is this DAT score decent enough to get into dental school? Many people said as long as I don’t have anything under 17, I should be fine. Is 17 BIO too bad?
-I have no research experience.
-I have a C+ in Ochem
-I graduated spring 2021. I wanted to do pharmacy at first, so my focus was on pharmacy until my third year of college (end of 2019). So I started this process very late. However, I could not do anything in 2020 because of COVID, so I decided to take a year off to shadow, volunteer, and study for DAT.

I am trying to apply broadly and within my range. I picked out schools based on average GPA, DAT, and tuition. If you guys have any suggestion, please let me know.

School list:
USC
UoP
Loma Linda
WesternU
Buffalo
NOVA
LECOM
Midwestern Illinois
Midwestern Arizona
Roseman
Nevada
Howard
OHSU
Iowa
ECU
LSU
UMaryland

I would add detroit mercy and case western.

May I ask why I should take off ecu and howard? Are they not OOS friendly?
you need to do LOTS more research IMO...
howard is a HBCU
ECU is one of the most OOS unfriendly schools after the texas schools
