Hi everyone,
I just got my MCAT score back and I am trying to create a MD/DO school list for the upcoming cycle. I would also like to know how my chances for the upcoming cycle is looking like. I applied in the 2024-2025 cycle. I got 1 interview which eventually got turned into waitlist and then rejection. I got the advice to focus on service so I have spent most of my time volunteering and fixing my MCAT Score. I was not able to score where I wanted but nevertheless an improvement. I will take any recommendations and advice on my application.

1. sGPA 3.6, cGPA: 3.7
2. MCAT
Past MCAT: 508
New MCAT score: 511
3. State of residence: North Carolina
4. Research experience: Around 400 hours. I will be listed as a coauthor on one of the publications. *most meaningful
5. Clinical experience:
-CNA: 2000+ hours (ongoing) *most meaningful
6. Non-clinical volunteering/Service
- working with kids who are critically ill (200+ hours) (ongoing)
-Casework volunteer: not exactly an caseworker because I don't have a degree for that but we did similar things where we connected people with low income on the verge of being homeless to resources after they experienced a disaster such as fire (300 hours) (ongoing) *will list as most meaningful
-Food Bank: I started this in August after getting reject last year. 75+ hours. Plan to get a lot more by the time I apply.
The organization that I am part of works with refugees. Havent counted my hours but I will assume it's around 50 hours
-Long term volunteering program that I have been doing since high school. Usually involved working with other volunteers and training them (200 ish hours, not ongoing).

My school list from my 1st cycle: EVMS, VCU, UNC, ECU, Duke, Columbia, Tulane, Pittsburg, Wake Forest, WVU, Emory, George Washington, Pennsylvania State University, Oakland, UVA, Quinnipiac, Vermont, Kimmel, Temple

I am still working on my school list so far I have UNC, ECU, Wake Forest and Rosalind Franklin. I am not sure if I should apply to apply to service heavy schools. I have not made my DO list yet.
