Application looks good and so do the possible gap year jobs, I would look at MSAR to see what schools on you list aren't out of state friendly to narrow down you list. Consider adding U Chicago as a far reach school and getting shadowing hours with a primary care physcian

Your school list looks really good. Don't be afraid to add Yale and Wash U they are truly holistic. a few target schools can also be SUNY Upstate, wright and U of Toledo.

I will definitely do that, thank you. And wow that would be a dream school honestly, I’ll look into that for sure

Don’t forget to apply to the regular UCLA program (Geffen).

I know their msar stats are combined with Charles drew so are they known for being urm friendly and accepting out of state? Because that would be an amazing place to apply to

Wow didn’t even consider those because of stats but if that’s true I will definitely look into them. Do you know if SUNY Upstate is OOS friendly? I believe I was told they weren’t, but I would definitely also look into there. Thank you so much!

I don’t know about the out of state part but they are URM friendly and your stats are on par.

Charles Drew definitely isn't a safety program. They require demonstrated and significant commitment to the underserved. The average applicant has significant hours with this community. The class size is also small.

I'm not saying *not* to apply, it's a great program. Just know this going in.
