Sorry to hear that xylem, I'm wishing very, very hard for you to get on that thrive list and be pulled off it in May.
aww...thanks omegaxx! 🙂

I hear that the admissions committee met for the last time last week, so why do you guys assume that there aren't some acceptances in the mail that haven't arrived yet? And why do you think they would not send out all the waitlist letters before April 15, since people have already been receiving the "thrive" letter and they won't be reviewing files anymore (I assume since the committe won't be meeting)....I'm just trying to keep my hopes up. Good luck to all of you.

And WashU might have a big waitlist but it DOES move after May 15, and you never know if you're near the top of it so don't get too discouraged...
It's not ranked, just keep that in mind.
which can be.. to your advantage..
I called the office today and they say that there is only one, large unranked pool of wait listed students

So how do they chose the 50 people who will be offered a spot in the class?
I'm going to thrive too...so has any received a non-thrive letter? Do we know those actually exist?
I got the "thrive" letter, also. I decided to call to see if I could get any more info on chances of getting in (they were very vague) and when the wait list will begin to move (may 15). I asked about differences between the 2 pools and the secretary said there was only 1. Maybe it changed from last year's system. I don't really know, but if there ARE 2 pools, and the "thrive" one is the smaller of the two, then theoretically, we should see some posts of people who got on the lower wait list, or at least people who are still waiting for a response.
Why is it called a thrive letter?
can the people who are lucky and end up at WashU from this waitlist please pledge to start a club/Student organization/cult called "Thrive"
I want my letter already! 🙁 "Thriving" on a waitlist is better than lingering in the uncertainty purgatory.
Just got the thrive letter too. Are we sure the other letter exists?
Hang in there guys, hopefully the list will start moving soon.
here's the waitlist letter

Mine says the same thing, except thrive is not capitalized. (I don't know if you did that on purpose.)
