i keep seeing these type of posts all over SDN. The real question is, why does it matter? I'm assuming you'd go to the interview regardless of whether the answer was a yes or a no, so it shouldn't make a difference. And just to let everyone know, I personally know people that got accepted literally just a few weeks prior to class starting, so just chill back for a while and ride the wave. And im not singling you out Kirby, I'm saying this to everyone that has these worries. People will withdraw, seats will open, and these sits will get filled.
What do the insiders like oldjeep think about April interviews? Is there any realistic chance of getting in?
oldjeeps said:1. Your chances of getting in are significantly higher than they were before you got interviewed.
2. Worst case, you can use this opportunity to get a little practice for future interviews.
I would join the facebook group if i could find it. Whats it called exactly?
For those wondering, I spoke with Dawn in the admission office about late interviews. She said any interview that is offered is for regular admission, so if you have an interview that means you have just as good a shot as anyone else.

Just did my FAFSA last week, finished the scholarship app online today. Do all I have to do is sit and wait for a financial aid package now? Also decided I am living in Royal Oak come June 😍
I just had an interview at Wayne and here's what my interviewer told me: they do still offer direct acceptances, but there are not as many as at the beginning of the year, so there's a higher likelihood that you will be waitlisted. She said this shouldn't be discouraging though, a large portion of people that are accepted have been waitlisted at some point. That's just the name of the game, don't shoot yourself in the foot and decide not to go the interview b/c it's late in the season. Interviewing may be a time/money drainer, but it is the best investment you can make. Especially at a school like Wayne which has arguably the best clinical training available. BTW I'm OOS so there might be a separate waitlist/acceptance pool for IS vs. OOS. She never specified this.
I finished my fafsa and scholarship app this morning!! I also talked to the financial aid lady...she said they will start awarding next week for government aid, but scholarships won't go out until late April-early May (after the committee meets). I am so stoked right now..for some reason when I got accepted it did not seem real, but turning in the paperwork to fund medical school did!! I am so excited!
I think your excitement will turn to depression after your tuition goes up another 11% and you find that lenders aren't giving incentives anymore for loans. 😉
Honestly though you should be excited and enjoy your summer.

Did you fill out those other documents about your parents income and send a copy of thier taxes? Some have mentioned doing this, but I haven't been emailed about it yet or cannot seem to find the links to the documents?
Well you really only need an estimate for campus based aid/FAFSA. Problem is if you don't give parental information you can't get scholarships either from Wayne.
And MDRunner all they need initially is the verif. worksheet. If they need more they will let you know on pipeline. The computer increase can be done at any time. P.S. get a mac. 😉
Should I wait till they request this stuff and let me know my FAFSA has been received? Or should I go ahead and send this stuff in?
This Worksheet?

Or the parental and student Asset Verification forms?
I think you will realize that they are just a bit slow as are most offices in the medical school.
who's calling in tomorrow?

Yeah that's the one. Either way it couldn't hurt. You can fax in the forms too if you want. Once you get your SAR from your FAFSA in general the finaid office has access to your FAFSA and you can check pipeline for your unsatisfied requirements. It should include sending that verification sheet and the taxes among some other things.
Is the Online Scholarship Application really just those handful of questions about your address/background/student status? Or is there a whole other part that I missed?
I was almost expecting essays, etc like all the apps we had to do in order to get to this point...
How does the committee decide...your AMCAS and interview?
Where is it at?
For all those waitlisted, stay up. May will soon roll around and there will be a huge waitlist movement.
Waitlisted. Grrrrrrrr....
I'm on the alternate list as of today. Does anybody know if they have a separate alternate list for OOS vs. IS?
