I was wondering what it means to "submit your AMCAS early". Does it mean:

1. Submit the application and make sure AMCAS RECEIVES your transcripts "early"?

or

2. Submit the transcripts in May, submit the application early June, and have everything PROCESSED early?

Oh okay, thanks for your reply! If that is the case then I guess I'm on the right track.

To me, it means doing everything AMCAS related (fill it out, transcripts, etc) in June and submitting before July

So, it doesn't look bad if one submits it around mid-June, right?

if you don't submit it before mid-June, then it's not looking good at all my friend...

just kidding. AMCAS says it doesn't give the apps to med schools until June 24th, so you should be fine.

Really? June 24th? I've been scrambling around, trying to get my final LORs done (professors are taking forever). I really want to maximize my chances and get everything going ASAP.

First, yes it says June 24 on the AMCAS log-in page. Second, LORs are not required for AMCAS submission/verification. Just get them where they need to be by July so they're ready for secondaries.

My school doesn't do committee interviews for the committee LOR until late August, doesn't that hurt me?

Yes. Assuming two weeks to compose and send off the committee letter, you won't be complete at most schools until Sept 15 assuming that they have your photo, essays, and money already. Assume another two weeks at best for your first interview. That puts you in October.

Many schools will already be interviewing; some sending out their first batch of acceptances soon after.

My first interview was in October and most of my peers had already been interviewed elsewhere.
