As far as avatars/sidebar display goes...I've gotta say the font sizing for names is a bigger concern. Is anyone else seeing wraparound names (like Touchpause), or hanging letters cut off at the bottom (yehhhboiii)?

Now what's happening is it would let me upload a new avatar. Regardless of what picture I try and upload it just goes back to the original picture
 
The Gravatar function is not working either 🙁
 
Does this new forum software support avatars >96x96 px or aspect ratios not equal to 1:1?

edit: For some reason I can't upload a new avatar. I'm trying to upload a cropped version of my current avatar. It uploads something (i.e. it's transmitting data to the forum servers) but then the avatar that shows up is just my old avatar. I've tried checking "delete avatar," confirming that my avatar is deleted, then uploading the new, cropped avatar...and it still shows the old avatar.

With the previous forum platform, one's Signature generally displayed only once per thread. Now it appears with every post, no matter how many times one posts in a thread, taking up a lot of space in some instances and distracting from the conversation. Can a box be checked so that they display less often?

I was such a fan of the old ones, especially the fact that they were often submitted BY sdn mods...it was such a community thing!
 
Wait, guys, there's a serious issue here: certain phrases keep getting picked out of long posts and now turn into advertising hyperlinks. Check out the social thread; the phrases "station wagon", "sound system", and "Aston Martin" have all been (not by the poster) turned into bizrate ads :O

😀 I looked at the social thread, and it looks like the links are gone from there, as well. Hopefully it was just a bug.

Weird, what browser are you using? I'm on Chrome, and I don't see any links.

EDIT: Just logged in with Firefox, and links are there.

It took a while to add the original smilies back - these were low priority on the "to do" list. :luck:

Coming-up this week:
  1. New database server - expect a big speed boost (although it will require 4-5 hours of downtime to make the changeover)
  2. Fix avatar images not displaying occasionally
  3. Add "guests viewing forum" - shows who is browsing a forum (like the old platform)
  4. Improved styles
  5. Donor name change feature
  6. Donor lock/unlock own thread feature
  7. Donor enhanced conversation features
  8. Delete account function
Future features:
  1. Advanced account security (SSL / optional 2-step authentication)
  2. Apple push notifications
BTW, if anyone needs to access their old forum account (to view subscriptions or whatever), the archived forums are at: http://archives.studentdoctor.net

Doesn't mean I expect you to be so...efficient...at it! If I had a way to send you cake over the internet, I'd do it. Maybe I'll just become a donor instead. Next paycheck.
 
Is there any way we can see if a post isn't being shown due to someone on our ignore list posting? Right now nothing is showing up which makes following some threads confusing until I look at the post number skipping one. It used to show us if a message was being blocked but now there's nothing.

Hey Lee, is it possible to add an option for residents and fellows to have a category for their specialty? I always find my self asking residents what specialty they are doing their residency on.
 
Absolutely. We're moving the database tonight, which is the priority. But, I'll put this on the 'to do' list!
 
SDN app on my iphone keeps shutting off if I am not connected to wifi. Will this be fixed at any point? Thanks.

I am running the latest iOS 7.04 on iphone 5. The problem first appeared when the Apple updated from 6 to 7. I saw several other forum members having exact same problem so I figured it should get fixed with the new SDN update but apparently it didn't.
 
Okay, maybe this has been addressed already, but did anyone else have their post count double when the new forums were released? Or did I just blackout for 6 months and megapost like crazy?
