Is there a way to collapse the different sections on the forum's home screen (like the old version)? ...It is a pain having to scroll down through all the forums that one never uses.

Not at this time. I've been using the "watched forums" feature. Just go to your regularly used forums and click the "watch forum" link at the top right of the thread. Then instead of going to the main "forums" page, click on the "Watched Forums" tab.
that was an option 😱Is there a way to collapse the different sections on the forum's home screen (like the old version)? ...It is a pain having to scroll down through all the forums that one never uses.
1. Trophy points
3. I don't see anything green?
Saying the member has trophy points just because he/she posts a lot diminshes what a trophy represents. Again, like "likes", it takes away from the purpose of this forum. Please rethink this.
3. the green I was referring to can be found in ismet's page.
If you look at the trophy page, most of the points come from being a member for a certain number of years, not the number of posts. It doesn't seem that different from the 2, 5, and 10 year badges to me.Saying the member has trophy points just because he/she posts a lot diminshes what a trophy represents. having likes and points does change things
for example, if i post something useful on the facebook group for my class and no one likes it or comments, that discourages me and makes me not want to share things anymore because no one seems to care
but i know people are using it because i know that there are plenty of times when i use something that someone posted and didn't "like" it or comment
people also go up to me in real life and say thanks as i do for people who post things. so i know that people appreciate them.
of course it hasn't changed how you use it because it's been one day. but i've seen how the point/like system affected my posting and reading habits on facebook and reddit over the course of several years so why wouldn't it affect it here? it's an unnecessary deterrent to the free exchange of ideas

Good samaritans 🙂Lol the same thing happens on our facebook group. I haven't let that stop me from posting something I think would be helpful. I found it helpful, and if other people find it helpful too, that's great. If they don't, that's great too. Doesn't matter to me either way, but maybe I helped someone out in the process.
As for SDN, people have disagreed with me, I have been outright wrong on many occasions, but that hasn't stopped me from contributing. I think those two things are more discouraging than not getting a plethora of virtual thumbs up, which is pretty meaningless. Just my opinion.

Sorry if this post comes across as a bit rude.
Did SDN really have to change the layout during the MIDDLE of the application cycle? The site has been going down periodically and we can't access any of the forums. A lot of us are preparing for upcoming interviews and/or trying to write update/interest letters, and we could really use the forums to help us out with that. But its hard to do that when SDN is down pretty often. Honestly, this should've been done during winter break (when people don't really need SDN as much) or later in the application cycle (like Feb/Mar) when things start to die down.
I have nothing against the changes and updates. Just wish the timing could've been better.
Anyone else having trouble with Interview Feedback? I can click the actual school but I get a "Page Not Found" when I click on the actual link for the survey results
we apologize that this free service is not up to your exacting standards
Okay, so here are a few questions I have about this:
4) Bring back MDapps! That was SDN's best feature. (Or tell me how to find it.)
I hope it gets fixed soon 🙁 I have an interview in a week and this is freaking me out haha.
So maybe this is a dumb question, but what is the new/established/senior member status now based on? It doesn't seem to be length of membership or number of posts.
One of the most important reasons for the update was to decrease the amount of downtime and problems we were experiencing with the old software. The new update should significantly decrease the amount of downtime, especially once all the kinks are worked out.Sorry if this post comes across as a bit rude.

If you go to "Personal Details" in your settings, do see a field called "Custom title" under the spot for changing your avatar? Is it possible to change that tag under your name anymore? I tried going over to profile settings to change it but I couldn't see the option to do so, I could have just missed it
Known issue. Working on a fix.Is there a way to collapse the different sections on the forum's home screen (like the old version)? ...It is a pain having to scroll down through all the forums that one never uses.
No. It isn't there. If you go to "Personal Details" in your settings, do see a field called "Custom title" under the spot for changing your avatar?
Not for me, it goes from avatar to the gender/birthday section. If you go to "Personal Details" in your settings, do see a field called "Custom title" under the spot for changing your avatar?

We're working on the fix for Interview Feedback. In the meantime, you can get access to the Interview Feedback survey results if you take one of the "/school" out of the URL that gives the error. It's a hack but it will get you to the data.
I tried that but it didn't work...how should I put it in?
I'm able to get to the University of Louisville results by following the instructions above. Here's the link I get:Sorry, I know this has prob been mentioned, but the interview feedback is not working. Even when following the instructions in that sticky image above. This is what happens:
Page Not Found
The requested page was not found. It may have moved, been deleted, or archived.
system/core/Kohana.php [875]:
The page you requested, schools/school/u-of-l, could not be found.
Will this be fixed soon?
Man, I picked the wrong time to take a break from SDN.😱
Why did my post count double? Also, are trophy points like tickets at an arcade that I can redeem for cool stuff?
THANK YOU! If anyone needs interview feedback, this link works. I just visited the school I'm interested in, copied their abbreviation from the "Page Not Found" link and pasted it in place of "u-of-l" and it works for all of the schools I've tried so far.I'm able to get to the University of Louisville results by following the instructions above.
