Western/Comp class of 2005

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Hey Melancholy, yeah...Eagle Canyon is on the corner of Peyton and Chino Ave basically...just up the street from Portofino...

Still with that "leaky" air conditioning....I thought that they were gonan fix that???

Hmmm....

What's up with the DSL??

Fill me in!!

melancholy and Tighe

We can totally hook up and play some golf together.

I asked this question b/f, but let me ask once more. Does anyone know whether I could just attend the first two weeks of SAPP?

I'm just too lazy to call the school myself and find out. 😀

slehrner,

Thats funny. Its exactly what I do. I drive around until I get lost, then try to find my way back home. Its the best way to find out what type of shops and stores are located in the neigborhood. Driving around in Claremont and seeing the Claremont colleges was fun.

Hey Everybody!!! one more quick question....Does anyone play golf or tennis? Let me know...I'd like to meet a few people who play so that maybe we could play on the weekends or maybe even before class starts sometime...I'll be out Aug 1.

Innerpower,
I would imagine that they would frown upon it...but since it is ungraded, I dunno what the ramifications would be.

Hmmm.....maybe someone who is at school could ask...as on the side..

I'v never palyed golf...but would love to learn...The U.S. Open is in my home town next summer...so..I should get into the "swing" of things...no pun intended!!

My uncle is actually going to be a Marshall at the Open next summer...

I'll be out in Chino Hills after July 10th..so let me know..let's get something together..as logn as no one laughs at me...

Vince , Steph, welcome to eagle canyon, its nice to know ill have some people living in the same building, even tho the place is pretty spread apart. Im totally down for tennis, wow i havent played in so so long.

when are you moving into EC, im goin on july 8th.

how many peoplee are gonna be in sapp

who started coloring
its fun in thebeginning, but now a pain

peace

Vdub,
I have a question....about this "coloring" idea..I was looking throught the book yest...and was wondering...all these pages are supposed to be done before SAPP, and we are to "UNDERSTAND" the plates....

I am not not sure about this idea of "understanding" the plates...I plan on coloring and reading them over....but I would imagine that would eb the extent of it...no?

Steph and I are moving into Eagle Canyon Aug 1st

Vince and Steph...
Sounds good...looking forward to meetin' y'all..
We were planning a trip to Tijuana the weekend of the August 3rd....that is when SAPP ends....so we want to go out and blow off steam...
You(pl/vosotros) are more than welcome to join us....I do realize that you are only moving in on the 1st.....but I just wanted to extend the invite....

Just looking for some people who like to go out and have a good time.....

Till Aug......

QUESTION: What is the anatomy coloring book called? 😕 😕 😕
Thank you! 😀

Hey dudes,

Whoever is out for golf, I'd be happy to join in. The clubs are making the trek along with me from my native tundra and could use a few sporadic chances to get some use. I'll also be out a little after August 1. Although if I don't get an apartment squared away, I may need to find a top of the line refrigerator box. Any suggestions as to which area has the best cardboard diggs? 😉
I for one am getting pumped to meet you guys to put some faces to the screen names. Right now this is about all I can picture:
🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 😎
The last one was for Yosh in his cool shades.
(just funning Yosh)

john im just coloring and readind the text, this stuff is beyond me so far. i dont know how we are to memorize all this stuff so quick. i think we should have a basic knowledge of it i reckon

For all of you who are coloring....try coloring one page, then look over the page again, go on to the next page, repeat the same, review the first page....the repetition helps. after awhile the first page information will be second nature. Good luck!!! 😱 😕 🙂

Sammy
That was some good stuff 😎 With a good tan..that could in fact be me...I'll be at the beach all week..so we'll see....

Smiles
As far as the coloring book...it is called
"The Anatomy Coloring Book"..by Kapit and Elson...it was like $15 through Amazon.com..plus shipping and handling...so figure like ~$20.

Vdub
I will embark on that coloring tomm...but your plan sounds kosher...I agree with ya!! Just color away..its a lot of crap eh????

Golf...eh? I am def interested to give this a whirl....Should be fun....

About my "shades"....
At first..... 😡 😡 ..then after a day or two.... 😎 😎

I love the sun....ahh...can we say MEL-AN-OH-MA?

Hey you only live once right????

😀 Hi ya'll - just checking in...

I just did that "required" financial aid entrance counseling quiz on the Westernu financial aid site - those multiple choice questions gave me haunting memories of the MCAT - sooooo glad that's over 🙂

Anyhow, hang in there you Isaacers! Keep the heart 😉

For those of you buying refrigerators, there's a Sears Outlet in Chino or Ontario that I heard you can get one at. I'm torn between an older cheaper model that guzzles energy and a newer, more expensive model that's 40% more efficient (don't want a >$100 energy bill)... decisions, decisions 🙄

Hey everybodie~ I'm a MS1.5, will be MSII in the fall. Just wanna say congrats to all of u! 😀 I'm surprised that you've been writing to eachother since Feb. It's a good thing that u're getting along cuz u'll be spending lotsa time with eachother. Good luck (esp to ISACers)
Feel free to ask me anything...
***Party while u can*** 😎

•Hi people,
Sorry I haven't written in a few days.. I'm still adjusting to the "intensive" pace of ISAC. I am definitely learning a lot.. and feeling better that what I am learning, I will be able to use for the rest of my life (rather than learning quantum mechanics in college which would probably be useless to a medical doctor). Dr. Younoszai (pronounced you-no-sai) is encouraging us to work together to learn the material along with having helpful study sessions with the TA's. From what he says, hopefully more professors are working to get students to "understand" the concepts and material rather than trying to just dry-lecture and have students memorize it all. Of course, a lot of memorization has to be done.. but it is learned and retained much better when you can visualize and apply it.

Lemon- Hi Leni.. Western U has its own servers we can connect our laptops to while on campus for internet access. They have a mail server for your future COMP e-mail address as well which you can access from wherever. Since everyone is going to have a laptop, it will be easier to carry around lecture materials and other documents on your laptop too. While I don't think the laptop is essential for med school, it does has advantages.. esp. with the way the anatomy profs are using it in this course.. and it does help update some people in terms of technology. As for internet access while you are not at school, I have no clue if Western has a dial-up connection.. in that case, you might have to get a local ISP.. aol, msn, earthlink.. or resort to something like netzero.

USC1992- Hello Dawn. Our schedule is still changing here and there.. but we mostly have lectures anywhere from 9am-12pm, lunch at 12pm-1pm, then anatomy lab from 1pm-4 or 5pm. You could stop by for the last few minutes of lecture, have lunch, then see how our anatomy labs are run. What did Dr. Younoszai tell you when you talked to him? At any rate, I think it is worth sitting in on a little lecture just to see how it is run.

Yosh- haha I have my map pencils already. I'll sell them to you for cheap as well as my anatomy flash cards after I'm done with ISAC!

-We also had a chance to listen to Dean Lenz talk to us about the upcoming orientation and a few other matters this Wednesday. It sounds like he is working towards having orientations filled more with information that will be useful to the incoming students in regards to things like policies, studying, having a life, etc.. those things that MSII's might wish they had learned ahead of time. I think in the past, they have spent a lot of time on certain things that could've waited such as a three hour orientation on the history of osteopathic medicine. While this is important and we will hear about it, it might not be the best time during orientation.

He also briefly asked us to brainstorm a bit regarding how we would present ourselves as medical students and osteopathic physicians in the future.. and told us a bit about his history and the history of COMP and its residencies. He does like to talk, but it doesn't seem like he beats around the bush (which is good).

Anyway, it's time to do some studying for tonight. Good to hear from all of y'all. I checked out the YMCA nearby on Garey Ave.. small workout room, a few handball courts, a pool or two, two basketball gyms, and a room with treadmills, stairmasters, etc. It's not extremely impressive, but for the summer it will do just fine until LA Fitness kicks in.

Wildpanda- hey.. how much do you know about working on cars? You could tell me if my car needs to go to the shop or something one day.. or if the shop is ripping me off, right? 🙂

Yeah...I guess I can consult you on that stuff

SO you have all started coloring/ studying for SAPP huh?

I haven't even gotten the coloring book yet.

I am still getting all my stuff ready to move back to my parents home in Diamond Bar for school... I'll see how that goes...if it doesn't go too well I'll be moving out to some apartment somewhere.

Yosh,
DSL or cable internet is totally worth it...it is much faster and much more convenient than a dial up ISP (which hogs the phone line). As for cost...you can run a network iin your apartment between the two computers and split the cost (both computers can still go on at once).

Geez..
It's 3:30am and I should probably get to bed soon.. but I had a few things to square away on Sunday afternoon that weren't anatomy-related.. and so I've had to do most of my studying tonight to catch up from last week. I seem to be getting the material better now.. just hope I won't get blown away the next day or two. :/

Innerpower- Eddie.. I used to play tennis a lot as a kid and died off in high school, but I am definitely up for some.. at least to break a sweat. I still have the old Prince Graphite (non-wide body) from the Michael Chang days. I am going to look for golf courses and driving ranges in the next few days (permitting free time after class).. I don't want to look like I can hit the ball on grass. For the time being, I am only good swinging on those practice mats.. which I think have spawned some bad habits.

You should just try to call admissions and ask them if they will allow anyone to take SAPP for just two weeks. I guarantee they will either give you an answer or direct you to Dr. Leo who is running SAPP. Btw, Dr. Leo seems to be a favorite with the girls due to his younger age (at least that's what I heard from my TA). Hehe...

Does anyone else here play basketball once in awhile?

miles333- Hey there.. thanks for joining the crowd! I don't suppose you frequent the campus once in awhile, do you? There aren't many ISAC'ers on SDN at the moment.. SAPP'ers aren't too far off though. It would be fun if you had a little time to chat on-campus or something after a long day of ISAC.

Lemon- Hey Leni.. I have a feeling there will be plenty of places to buy fridges. I attained one through my shifty apartment manager, but I'm sure you could do much better. I don't know if I had an old fridge in the past here in SoCal, but in my last apartment, I wasn't getting more than $30/month for my energy bills. Energy bills only hit close to $40/month during winter when the heater had to come on. I'll let you know how my first bill comes out in this new apartment since I am using my A/C on and off.

Yosh- Gabriel still hasn't fixed that leak, man.. but he is swamped from all the crap Dennis has him doing (Adriane can explain). You should get into golf eventually.. just so we can all go out as a foursome and tear up the golf course on the golf cart! (Remember "Skirt" giving us a tour on the cart)

SammyK- I'm not exactly sure where to tell you ahead of time to search for a fridge. Just about everyone takes a few days after they arrive to grab a fridge. In the meantime, you can always store your food on campus (they have about 10 fridges in the student commons.. along with a separate ice maker, multiple toasters, microwaves, etc... everything a student needs to live on-campus). 😛

**Anyone taking SAPP who is using that coloring book-
I flipped through the coloring book I bought (and haven't colored yet).. it seems like it would help understand anatomy because of the 3-D spatial drawings they try to get users to understand through coloring. If you haven't really had anatomy yet, I think the best thing would be to color the necessary things in, then just try to learn the organizations such as groups of muscles, etc. At this point, don't worry about memorizing any names, but look at where muscles/nerves/arteries are moving.. i.e. from point A to point B or through point C.. over or under point D. Just looking at the direction of muscle fibers or which muscles overlap other muscles can help you understand a bit ahead of time. I think most people learn the best by visualizing.. so this should help more after some class time.

If you're bored, pick a muscle.. see where the origin/insertion is.. then locate/visualize it on your body. Pretend the muscle is a rubber band.. then see how it affects whatever bone it is attached to when the muscle flexes. That should save some time right off the bat.

-Oh yeah, I have a feeling I might not even get to use my coloring book. If there is any future SAPP'er who probably won't be buying a textbook till SAPP starts, you probably could buy mine's when you get here. I'll even throw in a brand new set of map pencils! 🙂

---Ok, it's time to get some shut-eye. I need to grab my second hep B shot before class tomorrow.. gotta drive a good hour roundtrip to get it too... 🙁.

Hey what's going on?

Soem people have re-appeared and made some guest appearances....WELCOME BACK!!!!

PandaBear
I am all about the DSL line...I have a cable modem now..and the idea of "dialing-up" is anything but thrilling...but I wasn't planning on getting a land line, as I have a cell phone, and now Verizon is telling me that a physical and active landline is necessary to have the DSL service...so between the DSL($50/mo) and the "physical" phone line(~$20/mo)...I am looking at $70/mo for internet service...I will have to speak with Tighe about this.....
I just think it will be good to have....to be able to access stuff from class at home..especially living in Chino Hills, where I can't just run into school and pull up the powerpoint stuff....

Lanny
I have to work on the "fridge" situation...and I think I am gonna rent for the year...the idea of "moving" a fridge is ANYTHING but appealing!!!
Sorry about the "leaky" a/c...I need to call Adriane and get the scoop...

BTW...the little comment about how you got your fridge......HYSTERICAL!!!!!!!!

NICE!!!!

I am off to get my car inspected...4 tickets last week....I got a 90 in a 55....apparently this isn't L.A....Thanks Lanny!!!!

then my physical.....and I am off to da beach tomm...

😎 😎 😎 😎 😎 😎

cable modem or dsl

whats the main difference, price and what should we choose
i know adelphia is the cable tv supplier in chino hills, not sure what diffence that makes

holy crap! i'm without the internet for one week and look what i've missed!!!
TJ, Vegas, golf, tennis, cable, Scrubs????
phew!

anyways, how's about some of us get together for lunch or dinner or just some drinks later on this week? i'm going out to LA again, this time to meet up with a potential roommate and sign a lease. i'll be around and about thursday thru saturday so send me a line at my [email protected]'d like to put some faces to these ambiguous screen names.

let me know what the deal is, yo.

peace!

VDUBB,
Cable or DSL are both way fast!!
They both are still fast even with mutple networked computers.
Allows f or a free phone line.
you can watch live video on the internet etc etc
THe difference is hopw they do it.
DSL goes in over the tele line and has a constant fast speed.
Cable uses a cable line shared by everyone else...so the more neighbors on the internet...the slower it goes, but it is still faster than dial up...plus if there isn't alot of people online, it can be way faster than DSL...may be close to T3 connection

Hey, you should've went to the performance driving clinic, it was a blast. Especially when you are faster around the turns than some of the cars that cost three times as much...let me know if you want me to email a picture of my car rounding a corner at the track!!!

Oh my god.... you guys are friggin INSANE!!!! 39 pages!!??!! Damn! 😀

As a soon-to-be MSII at WU/COMP, I really worry about what'll happen to you all when you get to school in a month and a half, and you have a T1 connection at -every- seat in the lecture hall, and you can surf -all- -day- -long-.......

(not to mention 30+ people playing StarCraft or Half-Life/Counterstrike all at once...)

Good luck, people! You'll enjoy yourselves, I'm sure.

Paul

I think I am going to have my car sent to L.A....so I can use it for a while..Its a '90 Beretta GT...and I love it...I can have it sent on Autorail...its got 150,000 miles...but it still has GREAT pickup..and a awesome stock stereo!!!

When it dies...I can then just buy a car out there...but at least I can have a car for now..and not have to be rushed to go run and buy one in L.A.

So I think that dilemma is solved.....

BTW....Physical went fine...no diabetes...no probs..I am clear for take-off.

Hello all,

It's been a long time since I've posted anything, but I thought I'd contribute to the drive for 40 pages. 🙂 I've been doing the ISAC program with Melancholy and Gemini, so this is the first chance I've had to pop my head up for air.

Things have been intensive to say the least. It's been information overload for the past week and I'm just now beginning to get to the point where I can arrange all the things I've learned in my head and try to make some sense out of them. I don't things are going to be easy from here on out, but at least now I have a framework to try and organize the new info we'll be learning.

I'm living over in the El Sereno apartments, on the border of Pomona and Claremont. It's very quiet there, about 7 minutes from school and a mile from the Village at Claremont. I have had time to explore the Village yet, but it looks like a nice place to hang out and maybe get some studying done. Then again, it's quiet right now since the Claremont Colleges are on break.

Well, I'd better hit the books again. Looking forward to meeting the rest of you soon.

Hi guys,
just me posting after a somewhat depressing, but rewarding day at lab. I got grilled by the professor.. crash and burn for me. 🙁 I deserved it though.. but he didn't seem to understand that not everyone is up to speed.. and not everyone knows what they are doing. Still, I did have fun dissecting, although it seemed like he didn't want me to dissect anything unless I knew what I was looking for.

Speaking of DSL/Cable, both are fast. I believe Adelphi provides cable modem access.. so you could go that route and make installation a bit easier. DSL can be faster quite often.. although it has its limitations based on where you live.. and installation can take up to a month sometimes. I've done the research on DSL and I picked www.dslextreme.com rather than the service offered by Verizon. I also recently bought a Cable/DSL router and I got that to work with my laptop/desktop computers.. woohoo.

Paul's Boutique- So was that you the other day who was talking to a few ISAC'ers during lunch time outside? I think I've already taken advantage of the distraction of IM'ing a future SAPP'er while listening to lecture. 😛 So where do you guys usually get the gaming going.. in the breakout rooms?

Wildpanda- Wow.. I've never heard cable go as fast as a T3.. but cable IS decent as long as there aren't many cable modem users in the area. I think I would've gone with cable for convenience.. although there are other matters like privacy and hackers...

Pyoj- we have an exam this Friday.. but afterwards you could probably hang out with some of us. Just e-mail me I guess ([email protected]) and we'll figure something out, okay?

HELP ALL!!! I'M MELTING!!!! RIght now I think I'd rather be in lab being grilled my teacher than out in 107 degree sun for 8 hours, but hey it pays the bills.

I know everyone out here has asked about golf, but does anyone SWIM?

For those in ISAC, are you just learning the parts (muscles, tendons, organs, etc.) or are you also learning what they do?
Good luck with the studying.

Off to make dinner. When I move out there, I'll have a bunch of people over for a home cooked meal.... 🙂

hey steph, dinner sounds good to me! and i will bring dessert!!!! cool?

Dinner sounds GREAT!!!! WOW...soemone who cooks..you are gonna be quite the HOT commodity....!!

Good for you!!!

If they got the dessert...I got the beer!!!

Man. What is it going to take for us to hit 40 pages? I think we are putting in the work, with our topics including ISAC, SAPP, golf, DSL, where to live, who can cook, who gets sunburned, etc. And that is just in the last few pages. Way to go guys. Together we can make it happen. 😛

Hey Everyone..If Steph is making dinner I guess that means I am making dessert....

Ooops!...I just saw that smiles offered to bring the dessert...hmmmmm....yosh has the drinks.....Well $#%^!!! I guess I am doing the dishes.......

Vince..

Glad you are all about the dishes..I HATE dishes..I am all for the dishwasher and I don't even like loading that up...
When is this big dinner happening? I need to schedule it and "pencil" it in...

This sounds GREAT!!

I am way psyched...as they say in L.A./Oregon...."Its way cool DUDE!"

Keep up the good work...

Hi folks,
almost 3am and it's about time to wrap up studying for tonight. Hopefully, I will be better prepared for tomorrow in case Dr. Younoszai decides to pick on me. I seem to be making progress though.. just need an extra half-day to catch up and review some things.

Steph - What spf suntan lotion do you use? I used to swim every day as a kid.. then I got contacts and swimming became more of a pain. I also noticed that when I came to California, I noticed a lot more people that couldn't swim at all (sorta strange if you ask me).. I was kinda wondering how I could teach these people to swim. At any rate, I've tried to find some decent goggles, but they still leak from time-to-time... so swimming can be bothersome at times. It's such great exercise though.. esp. to beat this heat. The YMCA nearby has a pool that you can actually swim laps in although I don't know the hours. I will have to check it out sometime though.

here's a question for you all...what ever happened to the curriculum change? anybody know how different we are going to have it compared to past classes?
~j

Jay,
Good question...I had totally forgotten to ask about that.....I got your call yest too...I was at the Doctor getting my COMP physical done...

All checked out!!!!

Wildpanda- Wow.. I've never heard cable go as fast as a T3.. but cable IS decent as long as there aren't many cable modem users in the area. I think I would've gone with cable for convenience.. although there are other matters like privacy and hackers...

I don't know if it is T3 or T1...but either way it can get very fast late at night I hear when no one else is on.

All this sounds really good...

Can't wait for school to start!!!!!

Hey guys,

Haven't had a chance to post here in a bit. It's good to see everyone gettin to know one another. Anyway, I just quit my job and am tryin to relax some before school starts becoming a reality. I got a place down the street from the school so I hope to meet you all soo. You sound like a laid-back bunch of people. Here's a question: does anyone recommend any affordable health insurance? COMP's asking me for proof of insurance.

Peace,

Christian

HI all...another long day, but not in the sun...I had to unbox all our new pool furniture and put it together...not in the job description..esp with flip flops on...oh well...i give notice Friday

Melancholy--I use spf 30 2-3x/day...so still kinda white.
I actually teach swimming.
And I can help find good goggles or help adjust them.

Oh and since you are in ISAC can you let me know what you are doing...is it purely know the anatomy(organs, ligaments, tendons, muscles, etc.) or is it also understanding what/how they work....I'm trying to do some review and learn now.

Talk to you all soon...off to cool down... 😎

Hi people,
just writing while I am eating dinner. I got "pimped" at anatomy lab today and we all got a nice scare from one of the anatomy professors who showed us slides from old anatomy practicals.. so I will be spending most of my evening on campus studying!

slehrner- Hey Steph.. do you tan/sunburn easily? Actually, I could probably use a little help adjusting my goggles.. I already had some advice picking a decent pair and it's probably just something little I need to do to fix them. It would be nice to do my laps and even flip turns (when I feel adventurous) without getting that slow leak.

Our ISAC program can actually take place of the first semester of gross anatomy in the regular year depending on how students do... so I assume that we are learning the same material covered in the regular gross anatomy course. At the moment, we haven't done any organs, but we cover everything about the muscular, nervous, circulatory, and skeletal systems. I'm not sure how much physiology there is with certain things because we will have more detailed courses that are separate from anatomy. That being said, I think anatomy has plenty of information.. I will be busy with this for awhile. 🙂

Prolixless- hey.. wow I don't remember the last time you posted.. it's been awhile. Just how far down the street is your future apartment? There are a couple of us ISAC'ers in The Plaza Apts. down the street.. a few SDN'ers included and more to come in the future.

I think it's good to have some laid-back people around.. there is plenty of stress in med school from some peers, professors, classes, etc... it's nice to take a break from it by hanging out with people who can put things in perspective and have a good laugh once in awhile.

As for the health insurance, COMP offers two health plans in addition to an option for major health coverage. I don't really know much about outside health plans because I have been covered under my family plan in Texas until now.

pyoj- Hey J.. I'm not sure how much different the new curriculum will be just yet. I'll have to see if I can get any info out of the anatomy professors on that. I'm sure we are all a little curious about it. In the meantime, I can at least say that they are in the process of moving stuff to the new library.. so at least there is some progress there. 😛 I'll try giving you a call or something Wednesday evening, although we will all be studying pretty hard from Wednesday till Friday when our exam is. We'll probably get out Friday later afternoon.. so maybe there'll be something going on Friday/Saturday. I'll e-mail you my phone #, okay?

About time to get my stuff and tromp over to the HP building to do a little studying. Keep up the posting!

What's doing?

I spent my 1st day at the beach....and got some good color!!! 😎 😎 😎

I am back to the beach tomm...

Good to see all the new people posting here....keep it coming...

I am anxious to see about the "new" curriculum too....speaking of curriculum..I gotta get started coloring....DAMN!!!!

I really need to take a good look at this health insurance plan too...since I quit my job, I no longer have any coverage...so I will have to buy some from the school....anyone really look at that brochure yet???

I sent in my $$ for my OP&P shorts...I thought about getting the sports bra(for sh*ts and giggles)..but quickly decided against it....
Its an UNDERGRAD organization??? Anyone with any ideas about this?

Library check...
Just wondering when it is scheduled to open...I know soon...

Apparently my old doctor retired and sold his practice...so now I have to see who he sodl the practice to..and try to salvage my immunization records....Uggh!!!!

I can always call from the beach..thank God for the invention of the cell phone!!!

😉 😀 🙂 😛

Talk to y'all soon!!!

Hey everyone! 3 more days of work, and then I'm jobless 🙂

No job, but lotsa work ahead of us, that's for sure.

Hey Yosh
If you're spoiled with good health coverage from work like me, then you won't appreciate what Western has to offer - the bare minimum. I found a cool site. Just give them your new zip code 91767?, and they give you a chart of different plans! It's pretty cool: www.3dquote.com.

I think I'm going to do a Blue Cross plan.

Stay cool everyone!

Lemon

Lemon
I went to that website...but it is a Dell site...with no healthcare info...Is that the right info???

Please let me know..I am interetsed!!!!

Where did you find this site from..and what are the prices and plans like?

I skimmed over the Western pamphlet...and it looked bare minimal...at best..I was a little apprhensive, and was hoping that I just had read the info wrong....

Current Western Students
Anyone used the Western insurance..if not..what are you using???
I need some ideas and guidance...being that my parents insurance is not an option...I am open to suggestions....

😕
😕
😕

I am also one of the spoiled work-related health insurance gang. I did go with the school's policy though. I'm just going to hope that my lucky health streak continues. I figured I was already spending a lot of time researching everything from apartments to computers that I didn't want to mess with one more thing.

I too am insured through my own work, but when school starts and my job ends I will go back to my parents' insurance with full-time status. It's a pretty dope plan with hella good coverage... You guys should see if this may or may not be an option for you through family??? Works for me!!!
As for the weather in Pomona... How hot is it? I have heard so many different stories about how cold the nights get. Is that true? And is the weather more dry or humid? I hate humidity!!
Alright then, good luck to you anatomy peeps on Friday. Is there a curve that goes along with ISAC/SAPP? Is there a curve for when school starts also? i hope so.....
