Western COMP Waitlist

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
My pre-reqs were below average, but like you I am definitely making up for it in my last two years of college. It seems like I am going to be applying to the same ones as you however (ones in CA, AZ, and NV, and some other ones all over but want to stay close to CA). I hope I could still have a shot at an interview at Touro though!!

Here's another reason to come to COMP if you're deciding...

Our dean just informed us that COMP DO 2008 has a 93% Comlex Step 1 pass rate, which is 4th in the nation, and the difference between 2nd and 4th is only 1 %. The avg of the nation is 88%.

Even though we're the 4th in pass rate, COMP 2008 has the highest class average in the nation, with an average score close to the top quartile. It means that, the average student in COMP 2008 is at about the top 25% nationally in Comlex step 1 score.

Scores don't mean everything, but I hope this means we'll match even better than before as a class.

I got an acceptance letter from Western, I'm guessing it arrived on Friday. Unfortunately, I was out of town and did not get the letter until Monday. I called Cameron at Western on Tuesday at noon EST, so 9AM over there & she told me that my acceptance was rolling & the class was full again. In fact someone took the last seat just that morning. But I was first in line if I gave her the $2000 deposit right away, which I did. Wednesday afternoon, she calls me to tell me that someone deferred or something & I am officially in. Had a spot not opened up between now & the 1st day of class, I would have been guaranteed to start at Western Fall 2008 instead.

FYI:
- 3 people dropped last week & at least 1 person dropped their spot this week.
- Last year someone dropped the day before classes started.
- I was ranked high priority on the wait list on April 30.

If you do get an acceptance from Western & you want to go there, I recommend you call them immediately because they obviously give out more acceptances than there are spots. From what Cameron told me, they just send out letters to people & it's first come first serve.

I hope this helps anyone else who is waiting, good luck! & congrats to those who got in.

Oh wow Stringer!!!!! Congrats!
Are you gonna stay in Cali now? Didn't you already move to the desert? Let us know what you decide! 😀

A lot of people have asked, and I've finally decided to make it public. 🙂
Yes, I'm going to Western this fall. There were a lot of different factors to consider, and it wasn't an easy decision.
I hadn't actually moved to Vegas yet, but I was well on my way!

Thanks for the support and well-wishes, everyone!
