I'm hoping it doesn't. But, for what it's worth, I was told from the info-sessions/personal Q&A meeting that this would absolutely make an impact if it happened to be the case.
I was also in a situation where I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to apply "early/on-time." Ended up working out, however, they extended the original deadline anyway by a few weeks so I had some more breathing room if needed.
Seemed a bit contradictory because admit decisions would not be announced until all interviews were handed out, so I didn't see the issue given it's not rolling admissions. Their reasoning was that the interviews would be filled up, this was back in January.
Did you apply on the original deadline (~2/14 iirc) or the extended deadline?
