What are chances to get accepted to NYU after interview ???

    To all future dentist at NYU,

    What are the chances to get in NYU, after invited for interview...

    I heard they interview 1,000 and accept around 850 in order to fill the class.

    But why 850, isn't it 250 for their class size. Sorry I am confused !!

    Many people get accepted to NYU but then turn it down, so they have to accept much more than the actual class size in order to be able to fill-up the class.

    Do you know what are the reasons people turn down NYU ?

    It's seemed to me that not many people like to go to NYU b/c they accepted 800 students for only 250 seats.

    Any responses would be appreciated. Thanks.

    Just guessing, but---
    One can be the high cost. It is one of the most expensive dental schools out there. Also, the cost of living in NYC is very expensive. If you had the chance have 100K less in loans if you went to another dental school, would you do it?
    Another---it is a big class and some people want a smaller enviroment...
