Any suggestions on where to apply? I know "mid or low tier" MD programs but I have no idea what those schools are
Any way to become a stronger applicant?

The 'Mid or Low Tier' advice would generally be taken to mean:

- Your state's public schools, not because they're not good or well-ranked (many are), but because they're generally easier for In-State applicants to get into.

- Private schools with lower average MCAT and GPAs

- New schools with unproven track records

- Most of those 'Not Ranked' by US News & World Reports

Mid-tier would likely include most schools with median MCATs of 34 and under, and low tier below 30.

3.5 is the osteopathic average, so it will all depend on the mcat.

Invest in the MSAR. It'll give you 10-90th percentile GPA and MCAT ranges for every MD school, which will give you a good idea on which schools fit well with your stats.
