I graduated with a B.A in Biology from a "public Ivy" last month but I went to a community college before transferring there. so stats:
**The good and the Okay-ish:
GPA: 3.6 sGPA:3.6
Research with medical school: 600 hours in the lab
Research with Dental School: 2 years, possible author (paper is not written yet)
SGA= 3 years, vice president for a year
honor societies= 2 but that was in community college
tutored for a couple of hours, was on committees to celebrate school's opening day, and marshaled two graduations, would they even care, who knows.
Volunteer at a hospital: 50 hours over a year's time
**The bad and the terrible
Dental volunteering= 30 hrs
Shadowing= 25 hours (bad experience because it was awkward to just stand there feeling like a burden.Terrified to find new dentists to shadow..)
DAT= studying right now (procrastinating at the moment and super SUPER scared. )

Should I apply late this cycle? I don't want to be out of school for two years my brain will rot away...but I might have a better chance applying...I know I need to increase my shadowing hours (even though my top schools have it as "recommended" ) IDK any help is appreciated.

First of all, you got great ECs! and good job with those GPAs as well🙂

But you have to at least get about 100 hours of shadowing. I heard shadowing different specialties are better than doing just general dentist.
Also in order to "chance" you, I need to know your DAT score! It's one of the most important things on the application.
Just do well on DAT and you will definitely get in somewhere.
I am not entirely sure about this cycle.. Shadowing is very important.

When are you taking the DAT? If you can bring your shadowing up to about 100 hours and if the DAT will be done within like a month then yes.
