Hey y'all
Here are my stats
Major Biology
AACOMAS cGPA 3.41, sGPA 3.21
TMDSAS cGPA 3.69, sGPA 3.51
MCAT 19 (PS7, VR4, BS8), 26 (PS10, VR6, BS10)

ECs
-College Varsity track athlete for freshman, sophomore, junior years of college (~20 hours per week)
-Resident Assistant to freshman during sophomore year (~25 hours per week)
-Studied abroad in Spain and China
-Participated in a REU research experience in between junior and senior years (40 hours per week)
-Biology laboratory Teaching Assistant during senior year (6 hours per week)

Volunteering
-Working at local food shelf (20 total hours)
-Program that assists elderly with landscaping (10 total hours)
-Foreign English tutor (30 total hours)

Healthcare related work
-Doctor shadowing (~200 total hours)
-General surgery M.D.(rural)
-2 different family practice M.D.(rural)

You think OP has a shot at MD with a 6 in VR? The 10th percentile VR for all three of these schools is 8.

It would be hard to tell a TX resident who is committed to applying not to go at least for these...

Absolutely. I have been advised to still go ahead and apply to all of the Texas MD schools alongside applying to TCOM. And I totally agree they are my reach schools and I don't really have any expectations to be successful by applying to them.

I used to have them on my list of schools, but after looking at some of the other Touro schools I figured that they too might put more stock in the stats part of the application, so I removed them. Do you really think I should still apply there?

Yep. Touro-CA and NY are the ones with the high stats. NV is typically receptive toward applicants with your stats.
