Both of the below are wonderful! I wear the first for sleeping (amazing), and I studied for the MCAT with the second because you can only bring foam to the test. When I REALLY need peace, I do the second type of earplugs with noise cancelling headphones playing rain sounds. Maybe it's overkill but it works for my distractable brain!
I used the 3M OCS1137 Classic Earplugs because they were free at my universities library. I had zero problems with them. I could get ~5 uses out of them before the foam started to lose its structure. Simple, comfortable, and they blocked out a lot of noise. I also use them when I sleep. You can get a 200 pack of them on Amazon for $25. That's a steal if you ask me
