I'm writing a book related to the hospital setting and would greatly
appreciate shot definitions and differences between the various
physican titles in the hospital setting. I just need to provide some
basic info so readers can understand the differences. Any help would
be greatly appreciated. Thanks

An intern is a first year resident.
A resident is a doctor who has graduated from medical school but is
undergoing additional training to be licensed or board certified.
A fellow is done with residency but is getting even more training,
generally an extra year or so.

An attending is done with training and is the boss!
