I'm a junior in chemistry major and just starting Ochem 1 in Spring and seriously contemplating switching to be a biology major. Since I haven't taken any upper level chemistry courses, I figure this transition wouldn't be a setback.

As far as spring registration goes, I've taken gen chem 1/2, biology 1/2, physics 1/2 with oGPA 3.47 and sGPA 3.2. I realize my sGPA is too low to be competitive, but I'm fully aware of my situation and now working on improving it!
I was recommended to take genetics next, but the only professor teaching this spring is difficult, so I want to put it off until the summer, which I hear isn't too bad.

So far, the courses I've considered taking are:
Ochem1 with lab
2D design
Philosophy
and hopefully one more science(or w/e) class

What are you guys taking in spring? What electives have you/are you taking to strengthen your resume?

have you taken the dat yet? if not i suggest some type of physiology class or A&P (whatever they have at your school).

knowing about different systems of the body helped a lot on the bio section of the dat for me

I haven't taken the DAT yet; I was late in deciding I wanted to become a dentist. I have yet to start my EC's as well.

ok, well either way I would suggest an A&P course or some type of upper level physiology.

I just looked at the classes offered and I think I can fit Cell bio into my schedule. I am leaning towards cell bio for the upcoming semester over anatomy&physio because the adv. A&P has 15 seats and it's already filled.

sounds like a good plan to me. you should try to do really well in all bio and chem classes from now on out
