Earlier this week, the Univ. of Utah sent me an email invitation to a freshman info session in april. I called up confused because I had not received an acceptance yet. They siad there was a "glitch" and could not tell me anything more -- if it was a good glitch or a bad glitch.

They said I would, however, recieve a letter shortly. They usually don't send letters until the end of March, and I just had my interview (first one, too) 2 weeks ago, so I wasn't sure what to think.
I told an M1 about it and said I've been living to check my mailbox every day since then. The M1 told me I'd know before I open it because acceptances come in large envelopes and rejections come in thin letters.
Well, today I opened my box and there were no big letters. Then I saw the UofU SOM insignia on a small, thin letter. My hopes over the past 3 days sank, and I felt like I'd been kicked in the chest. I opened the letter ready to cry, and saw the opening line "I am delighted....". I had to read the whole thing twice just to be sure. Ahhhhh..... I am going to be a doctor.
