Re-applicant here. MCAT in 2018, graduated 2017, cookie cutter stats. I plan to get more letters of rec as I got a new scribing job. (thankfully left SA) But, sadly could not get more volunteer hours.

Do i need to have my LOR redone? I know Personal statement, as well as the transcripts will need to be redone. Will be calling the schools I got a R from last year soon to see what they'd like to see or hear from me more (think my personal statement was not as good as it could have been which boned me), and then start sending once I get my loan.

Thank you all, I know I'm not the first to ask

1) Rewrite all essays and have multiple eyballs vet them
2) engage in service to others less fortunate than yourself.
3) Consider what holes are in your app
4) Check on school admissions websites to see if your LORs have expiration dates. You can always take a class or two this fall to get new ones.
5) Do NOT reapply if your app is pretty much the same as last year, UNLESS you applied late.

What are your stats?

If you have kept doing stuff with your letter writers and you think that they have more that they would be able to say about you, then I would ask to have it redone. Otherwise, I would still ask just to have the LOR updated with a new date.

Most schools will tell you that they do not offer personalized advising to reapplicants, but I do think it might be worth it to call because it's something that won't hurt your application, and maybe one or two schools will give you some advice.

Mcat 502, thousands of clinical hours scribing for SA 3 years, and now an independent PCP for the past couple months. gpa 3.34, graduated in 2017, and the mcat was done 2018. Got like 150 hours volunteering between 2 churches.

My app hasnt been fluffed up other than more clinical hours bc ive been working my ass off applying all by myself without help. Haven't done mote volunteering which sucks, but now im doing codes and all the orders n stuff for patients for this doc vs only documenting with SA previously. Have a feeling my personal statement was meh last year, and need to call and ask the places i applied to what holes were there.

Finally finished moving this week so now this process begins lol. Thank you for your help

More clinical hours just working to pay the bills and my loan from last app cycle**

I think your MCAT is good if its balanced.
What is your Sgpa and Cgpa? 3.34 for both? then its good.
Clinical and non clinical? EC?
If you write more details here then people can help you.
As Goro mentioned above re-write your PS and maybe get it checked by couple other peoples.

Any interview last year? WL?

Get LOR from DO it will help you for DO schools.

Sorry but 502 is not cookie cutter stats. Can you retake this? Hopefully your GPA is good.

Its well balanced 126 125 126 125. Gpa is decent at 3.34, most matriculants for DO schools are in same position. Sorry u think otherwise

Ive already taken once in 2016 and got 490, this was my retake at 502

Thank you, yes as above its balanced. 3.34 is for both combined gpa yes.i have a DO letter from my PCP who i got 150 shadowing hours under him as well, and 2 other MDs, as well as thinking of asking my current dr im scribing for to get another recent one. My ECs are 150 hours of volunteering between food bank ran by local catholic church, and another christian church allowed me to help coordinate sermon. I scribed for SA thru inpatient, outpatient and ER. Now im employed by an independent PCP office where i do all his orders, referrals, inbox items, scribing, the whole jazz besides checking vitals and drawing blood.

I was only able to commit to like 7-8 schools with secondaries, and ran out of funds to punch thru the rest of mine from the primaries which screwed me. Got Rs from midwestern, at still (they took until april to say no), PNW among some others. Burrell emailed me until the end to send a secondary but i didnt have the money from SA issues.

So sorry to hear that you were able to apply to only 8 schools due to shortage of funds. You need to apply to more schools this time.
What is your state of residence?
PNWU is not really a fir for OOS unless you are in neighboring states e.g. CA, OR or NV.
All the best.
