What do I wear for a working interview for dental assisting?

I just got an invite to a working interview to become a dental assistant. What do I wear? I've read that I should dress formal, but another says to wear scrubs. What should I wear?

I wore black slacks and a nice top to my interview!

I got one of those next week too. I asked the dentist what to wear and she suggested scrubs, but not every place will be the same, so I would ask if I were you. She also sent me all the dress policies and what is expected in a pdf.

Since it is a “working” interview, would it not make more sense to have scrubs? Perhaps a splattering of saliva/blood/other debris might be what be what the “formal” wear needs.

I didn't catch that it was a "working" interview in that sense, if that's what it is then yeah, you should probably just ask them if you should wear scrubs.

For our office working interviews will literally throw you in the back shadowing the dentist/assistant. Bring scrubs!

Contact the office and ask. Better to be proactive than to show up under/overdressed

When we have "working interviews" at our office, you're pretty much working out there with the rest of us in the ops, whether you're following an assistant around or placed chairside. Scrubs would be best to wear. Did they specifically say working interview?
