Like hobbies, sports, etc. I love weightlifting, and am on another forum. Weighlifting is what led me to physical therapy. So what do you guys do?

Besides the volunteering I do, I draw and browse the internet from 3pm-12am every day doing mostly nothing.

Oh, and I daydream. Not about my life or other people, that's creepy. I have characters that I make up stories for. It's intense enough for me to call it a hobby.. or an obsession. It can actually be very time consuming and frustrating, just like art.

Other than that, I try to pick up a book to read every week winter-spring. I'm almost done with this one (All These Lives by Sarah Wylie.)

What kind of volunteering do you do?

at this point, my senior schedule is pretty light so i research/do a lot of scholarships, study, and i'm in a club so I do a lot of stuff with that.. and I guess I exercise and sleep a lot.. That's about it.

I play piano, take cruises in the car with my best friend (girl). We watch movies, chill... etc.

We just saw the movie Warm Bodies and I HIGHLY recommend that movie. I love it. I want to read the book.

I like to go to local parks, listen to classical music too (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wXQCPAR0EHo) and when I listen to them, I play them on the piano.

I just try to enjoy life. I'm really laid back. Probably like one of those geeky guys who just chill and you see in the movies who always get the girl.

I usually watch lots of romantic comedies, because she likes them. I actually like them too.

I'm not a try-hard in high school. I'm "only" going to be a pre-med

Haha thats cool, yea i need to get out more, my daily routine has literally been, wake up>school>gym>homework>eat>internet/forums>sleep lol. Alright, i might check out that movie, and yea always good to just kick back and enjoy life.

All it took was one night in a nursing home taking care of my grandmother who was suffering from Lou Gehrig's disease, and seeing all the faces of the elderly in a hospice, knowing that they're going to die with their ENTIRE life behind them...

It makes one cherish life a bit more..... The grass is greener, the sun is brighter, the cold isn't as frigid, and the mundane tasks are a lot more tolerable.

Wow, sorry to hear about your grandmother, but that definitely sounds like it would change someone's perspective on life. Did you just come up with "It makes one cherish life a bit more..... The grass is greener, the sun is brighter, the cold isn't as frigid, and the mundane tasks are a lot more tolerable." If so, damn, i'll make sure to keep it in quotes haha.

Nice, what are you trying to become? Lovin the avi by the way. You a hip hop/rap fan?

Right now I'm thinking surgery or maybe derm, but I know I'll probably change my mind a lot by the time I actually get in med school..

And yeah, hip hop is what I pretty much listen to mostly.. Should probably change my avi back, I was bored so I was changing it around lol

And @Arijos0222, sorry to hear about your grandmother man. Glad you could get something positive during a tough time though

Haha, well goodluck on whatever it ends up being. I hope Kendrick becomes the future of hip hop, too much garbage nowadays imo.

@pthopes, DEFINITELY. Him, J.Cole, and a couple others are who I'm really looking for to lead it out of the hole it got into.. I swear, if I hear another Nikki Minaj/Lil Wayne song on the radio
:bang:

Thanks, and it's okay. Through the bad, comes the good :luck:

For some reason people always choose between these two.

Thanks for the kind words. 🙂

And yes, I did come up with that. I'm some-what of a poet. :naughty:

Some rich school you probably go to... I sometimes check hSDN around 8-9 in my 1st period class, teacher doesn't really care lol. Tbh, i am new to hSDN, but it seems to be pretty dead at times.

I go on hSDN in the morning, and then once in the afternoon, and maybe in the evening once....I use my laptop all day (we are a laptop school - so our education is just done on laptops....) = hello socially awkward people 🙂 .....

Other than come on hSDN, I read, watch TV, Listen to Music, Program on computers, and....well that's about it

I live the simple life i guess 😛

So far I can program Java and PHP. I favor PHP a little more because it's a very simple language to learn (to me) and I like to design webpages.

I know some HTML and python. I haven't tried learning PHP yet. I also know CSS but I don't consider it a language. It's more formatting than programming.

Sounds like you need to do some soul searching. Find out what you like to do outside of school, studying and working (?). If you find yourself studying and wanting to learn outside of of school, go with it. Doesn't matter what others do, it's your life.

I like to run in the fun marathons such as the Krispy Kreme challenge and the zombie run.

I have a similar story. It was the first time i got a 3 month summer (8th to 9th Grade). The first month was great. The next two were boring and i had to find something to do. So, rather than staying up all night and doing nothing, I enrolled in a camp that taught Programming. It's a great time killer for me.

Nice lol, have you ever done of those mud runs?

I have an iPod lol. I'm phone less.

I feel your pain. I was phone less for a year. Now I have the HTC 8x Windows Phone.

And I'm commenting on his phone because it has like, a controller inside the phone for. Playing games lmao

Apparently they are a lot of fun. You wear a flag football belt and throughout the course of the race zombies try to rip them off. If you finish with at least one flag you survive!

In highschool I played sports, played piano, raised animals, built computers (and of course played games on them!), and was somewhat of a brat.

Those were my extracurriculars for the most part.

Holy ****

Look at Nymphicus's mdapps profile. He got accepted to Dartmouth, Mayo, Vanderbilt, Baylor, and University of Southern California.

Haha....thanks for the compliments.

But really, take time in high school and college to do things you enjoy while you have the freedom of very limited responsibilities. Of course, work hard too. Although, honestly, in highschool, I barely worked at all. I was so lazy.

So, so lazy.

When did you have the change or heart to work harder?

Something must of clicked big time to be accepted to all those schools.

I went into college fairly unfocused, but did pretty well the first year because of my strong background in organismal biology from my hobbies. Then second year came with molecular biology and organic chemistry and my minimal-to-no-studying strategy ceased working. I got crushed. Second semester sophomore year I decided that I had to really figure out what I wanted to do and how to achieve it. That's when I really decided I wanted to go to medical school. It is also about the time that I found SDN. Junior year is when I really buckled down. I also took the MCAT then during spring semester. I killed junior year.

What college did you attend?
