it's not only the europeans who adore it, it's the central and south americans, the australians, middle east and into asia. it's a remarkably simple game to play, all you need is basically a ball and something to cordon off a goal. the beauty lies in its simplicity.

americans dont typically have a taste for soccer, as homebred games like basketball, baseball, and football are dominant. but in the rest of the world, soccer was being played before those sports ever came to be, so it's only natural that it has the largest following.

Outside of the United States, the GREEKS, SERBIANS, RUSSIANS (and remarkably last year the SPANIARDS) are the best basketball players and they always win most of the FIBA organized matches/championships, etc.

i was in bangkok, railay, koh phi phi, and koh tao for a month. i'd love to go back and check out northern thailand, as well as malaysia, cambodia, and vietnam.

Aww thanks, that's sweet. I'm in Knoxville right now, (well pretty much year round) finishing up my last semester. Nashville is home though! 😀 A get together sounds fun! I know a few UT people going to DCOM and I could recruit them to come too!

you guys are so lucky, i havent made it out there yet, just europe, central america, northern africa, and the middle east... but when i do get a chance I do wanna go there, india, maldives, seychelles and antarctica (yes, there too).

sticking with the beach photos, this is Jumeirah Beach on the Persian Gulf...

thats me in the middle of the picture, the water was about 90 degrees... amazing in October, the weather was 100+F.

those dubai pics look awesome. i really want to go there. not to mention greece. how are the greek isles by the way? that place looks amazing. how was northern africa? morocco or egypt.. or somewhere else? it sounds like you have been to quite a few places yourself. i haven't been to africa, the middle east, most of europe (went to paris and london when i was like 15). haven't been to most of the world actually, just a few select places and thailand happens to be one of them. i take the mcat in june and will apply to schools this summer.. and then hopefully i'll be traveling as much as possible until school starts the next august. or as long as i can make the money last (europe might not work out on my budget... i may have to stay in cheaper areas, but there's plenty of places i want to see in asia, south america, and africa). unfortunately i think i'm gonna have to be in the country to *hopefully* interview in the fall 👎 i feel like i've got a year to see everything i want to see, because afterwards i'll be working my *** off for like 8 years without breaks long enough to travel
